Hi Father Mark, I am now a grandmother in my 70's; I love the Lord and in my old age I have made an observation between Holy Scripture and my experience as a youth. I just want to share it with Part is in the Whole; and, the Whole is in the Part" - Phillip L.Engle


"The Part is in the Whole and the Whole is in the Part" is a Physical Truth that is the foundation of Laser Beam Photography.
When Phil and I were dating, he took me and David to Chicago's "Art Institute". At that time, they were showcasing "Laser Photography". I will never forget the astonishment I felt as we walked into a very large, very dark, totally blacked out area.... We were guided by railings set in a large semi-circle around a central feature. It wasn't very big but we could see that it was a lovely colorful boquet of flowers.
These flowers looked 'REAL'...and, as we moved along the railing, still looking at the Boquet, we were seeing the laser light 'image' in 3-D reality. The 'laser' itself was not readily visible, BUT, if you were glancing up high, on occasion, it would become visible as a super thin, super straight, flashing, multicolored beam of light in motion ! You could not 'see it' all the time, as it was elusive.
As we were seeing the 3-D light 'image' in real time, I puzzled to understand what was actually happening. Although I really did not understand what Phil was explaining to me [and to be quite honest, it is not entirely clear to me, even now...] ; I do remember this: " The Part is in the Whole; and, The Whole is in the Part"....well, O.K.!
Eventually He explained that "in every single small particle of the 'laser' light 'image'; therein was contained the 'Whole and entire Image of the Floral Boquet'!!

Sometime later on in our married lives, with all of our children, after Phil had a religious conversion from 'Congregationalist' to 'Roman Catholicism'; he encountered the "Living Bread Discourse" : [Saint John, Chapter 6, verses 48 through 69 ] --- and the reality of the 'Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar', the 'Eucharist', the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ.
----and, not to be left unnoticed....
In The "Our Father" Prayer (which Our Savior taught); our "Daily Bread", when translated from the original Greek was "SUPER SUBSTANTIAL Bread"
...and so, in understanding the Catholic Doctrine, that, when an ordained Catholic Priest Consecrates plain unleaven bread and wine within the Sacred Rite of Holy Mass which is really a -tapping into- the "ONGOING, ONCE FOR ALL TIME" Holy Sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Mount Calvary; - THEN, by the power of "The Holy Spirit", --
(Precisely as Our Lord Jesus Christ DID at the Last Supper; and COMMANDED his Apostles to DO LIKEWISE)
-- it is 'Trans-substantiated' into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of the Living God, Jesus Christ Himself!

And this is vitally important for, at the least these, two reasons:

1.) Jesus Christ, the Living Son of God, can Not be separated ! Every single individual "Consecrated Host" is the Living God, (whole and entire). [The WHOLE IS IN the Part!]

--And we, as partakers of this Divine Everlasting Life of Christ; we become One with the Trinity through this Sacrament! [The PART IS IN the WHOLE!] ALL the PARTS ARE IN the WHOLE!

2.) In the Heavenly Courts above, (see Isaiah Chapter 48, verses 12 and on)
Jesus SPEAKS to Jacob and Israel and reminds us that nothing is hidden:
"I Am the First and I Am the Last"
"My Hand also hath LAID the Foundation of the earth; and My Right Hand hath spanned the Heavens; when I CALL UNTO THEM, THEY Stand up together!"
"I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, THERE AM I: and now the LORD GOD, and HIS (Holy) SPIRIT, HATH SENT ME."
"Thus SAITH the LORD, THY REDEEMER, The HOLY ONE of ISRAEL; I AM the LORD, THY GOD which teacheth "

Similarly, as with the laser light, and BECAUSE of the aspect of the DIVINITY of Christ; It is 'THROUGH HIM, WITH HIM and IN HIM' that we can be enabled to hear Him (the WORD of the Father) and be strenthened to DO the Father's Will and FINALLY to BECOME ONE IN the People of God and the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

It is for this purpose that Jesus was GIVEN the Holy Commission to ESTABLISH the NEW and EVERLASTING COVENANT of the Marriage between God and His People...SEALED in HIS HOLY and DIVINE BLOOD...

ISAIAH Chapter 54, verse 5 :
"For 'thy MAKER is thine HUSBAND'; "the LORD of HOSTS" is "His NAME"; and thy REDEEMER, the HOLY ONE of ISRAEL. The GOD of THE WHOLE EARTH SHALL HE BE CALLED !!!."

The individual Consecrated Host is IN the Living God and the Whole Living God is IN every Particle of the Consecrated Host. This is a TRUTH FOUND IN the DIVINTY of GOD!

"The LORD OF HOSTS IS HIS NAME!"

Our HEAVENLY Father IS the FATHER of LIGHTS (St. John Chrysostom). Because the Lord God IS Divine Light, He is Divine TRUTH, He is all knowing. Within the Most Holy TRINITY IS "The BEATIFIC VISION". He IS the Author and CREATOR of all things. He is Divine and Everlasting LOVE; Goodness; Justice; Grace; Mercy; Wisdom; Peace; Truth; and Eternal Divine LIFE!
And He, Himself is the ONLY 'WAY' to travel, to be escorted, to become ONE - with and IN God; the Eternal Father, Son and Holy Spirit - in the Holy City of the New Jerusalem, where the SUSTAINING ENERGY IS ONE, the ALPHA and OMEGA, ALL in ALL. "Through Him, with Him and IN Him", we all become ONE with, and IN, God, through the NEW and EVERLASTING COVENANT, [SEALED in the Sacrifice of the Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ] the Covenant of Marriage between God and His Obedient, Faithful chosen people!

Dear Father Mark, on the Tuesday before the Holy Feast of Corpus Christi, I was kneeling before Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament Praying the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. Whilst I was praying, and looking at the Most Blessed Sacrament, I heard these words spoken to me, “ Jesus Is Suffering His Passion Again In The Holy Eucharist !” There was no one in the little Chapel except me and the Most Blessed Sacrament !

Father Mark, and Daniel - every day, since last Easter, as an 83yo born-again Catholic following a 25yr rejection of Jesus, has been filled with joy. The Chosen drew me back, followed by Divine Mercy, St Joseph intro'd to me by Fr Chris/Fr Don, and lately becoming a follower of you, Fr Mark.
