How to Paint Wrought Iron Railing | HouseSmarts Radio

When making a list of tedious tasks around the house, there are few that would be listed before painting wrought iron railings. There are multiple steps necessary to do this job properly. First, use nylon stripping brushes that you can put on the end of a cordless drill to strip away the current layer of paint. You can also use smaller stripping brushes for paint removal.

Next Lou Manfredini recommends going over the railing with a wrought iron primer. His preference is Rustoleum Stops Rust primer in a tile dull red, allowing you to better see your work. Lastly, use a paint brush to paint the wrought iron railing in the color of your choice.
