We misspoke here - we identified Alfonso XIII as "Alfonso the 9th" - we meant to say the 13th. Sorry for the confusion there!

The monarch’s in Spain are never coronated they are ALWAYS proclaimed. Clearly you never do your research.

He is a handsome Royal. His wife and daughters are also beautiful. I think they were undergoing marriage difficulties for a few years but it looks like all of that may be in the past. I have been to Spain. All of the Spaniards are beautiful. Tall, handsome, well dressed and well mannered. The women were just as beautiful. They seem to have beautiful, healthy hair and skin. It was a great trip and I wish I had done it in my younger days.

each of spain’s monarch has done a big part to the monarchy. like how juan carlos turn the monarchy from dictatorship to democracy monarchy, and how king felipe reduced the royal members also the transparency. i wonder what big things that princess leonor will bring into monarchy once she became the queen, can't wait to found out:)

Alfonso XIII or as you called Alfonso the 9th was not King Felipe's grandfather, he was his great-grandfather. Alfonso XIII had three male children and the youngest being Don Juan de Borbon and Battemberg, who had a son, Juan Carlos, who became JUan Carlos I and is the father of our current King

The Constitution from 1978 was not the first one. And a kind of parliament with its legislations and restrictions to the kings authority existed in medieval kindoms in Spain. This kind of information is quick, short and clearly tendentoius.

Felipe is indeed a very handsome man with a regal bearing due to his height and athletic body. Always had an eye for beautiful women but chose well in the end. Letizia and his daughters are all beautiful and Letizia has attributes and education that helps in her royal duties. Felipe is torn between his Mother and wife and two queens causes difficulties.

Europeans are not accustomed to coronations. Only British monarchs are crowned in a religious ceremony, all others being proclaimed. The last coronation on the mainland took place in Norway in 1905.

The geneology of European royalty is not confusing at all. Write everything down on paper and it's very easy to follow. If it's rattled off the way it is in this video, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Alfonso the XIII not the IX! Though recent, Spain's parliament could be traced to the first parliament in Europe the Cortes of León 1188. There's no crowning in Spain but a low-key proclamation in good and bad times! Franco didn't get to power right after Alfonso the XIII abdication but after the disastrous failed II Spanish Republic.

I just want to write good job, the comments are a bit mean. I only wanted to note that as others have pointed out Spanish Monarchs have not had coronations for a while, Divine Right stuff. In fact they would only allow Clergy to Pray over them. Instead, especially in Aragon, they would perform an oath.

I lived in Spain as a Teenager from 1973-1976 so I was there (in Madrid) when Franco died and Juan Carlos became King!

Queen Victoria of the UK spread her Children and Grandchildren all over Europe in Royal Marriages!
