It’s just laziness. As he said he has all the money in the world. He could get a chef to cook all his personal meals, healthy but still delicious and he can hire a personal trainer to his own private gym at his own house. It takes him very little effort to get into shape and he can’t even do that.

Pure laziness. He will regret it when he CANT play anymore and he thinks to himself “damn I didn’t even try”. All the potential and physical attributes in the world and he’s wasted it through laziness. There’s kids with nothing that would kill to be in his position.

Food 🐱💰 Over Being great at Basketball sums up today's NBA players

"Because he didn't feel like zion" 😂😂😂😂😂

I don't think he likes basketball enough to do the difficult things it takes to be great. Obviously that money isn't making him happy enough to overcome his weight issues. It's hard to give 110% to a job you just don't like, even if it does pay large amounts of money.

Funny thing is, this was Barkley 40 years ago. He was overweight in college. Difference is, Barkley did what it took to manage his weight in the NBA. He had a long career and was rarely injured. Zion refuses to to change his lifestyle. As long as he is collecting game checks, he’s going to put in minimum effort.

These players are absolutely pathetic. Stop giving them all of this money when they DON'T WORK!

An NBA exec even said his value is just one first round pick.

Some players spend most of their careers “injured.” It’s like they’re just collecting a paycheck without actually working.

Cue the Pelicans celebrating like they won a billion dollars when they won the 1st pick lmao

Once he said "money" I knew it was over. Money is the motivation not sharpening ya game

Biggest problem in the NFL, nba, all sports is you should get paid based on your accomplishments after the season is done, period.

It's sad. He has potential. He showed glimpses of what he could be at Duke and with the Pelicans.

Alot of people forget Zion is young. You are still growing into who you are and figuring out who U are. I think Zion thought he wanted to be a pro player but everything(hard work) that comes with it isn't satisfying. I hope he gets into a field that makes him happy

No one is more accountable for Zion than Zion himself. Unfortunately, Zion has shown to be prone to injuries in the NBA. This also happened to "Little Penny." Penny Hardaway was like 80 lbs less than Zion at the same height. Penny was drafted #3, but you can argue #1 b/c he was traded for Chris Webber, who was the #1 pick in 1993. Penny started his career just like Zion -> BRILLIANTLY with HOF play and potential. Unfortunately, knee injuries took Penny's expectations away. This also happened to Greg Oden, who was drafted #1 in 2007 listed at 7" feet 275lbs. He ended up being injury prone early in his career and eventually had to retire from the NBA 7 years into his career. To me, that's what makes Shaquille O'neal special. He was a taller and bigger version of Zion with the same tenacity and playing style as Zion, yet was able to have an 18 year career with close to NO major injuries‼️ Let's not forget when he was playing as a rookie in Orlando he was over 300lbs flying, running, diving for the ball very aggressively. In LA during his championship years his weight was over 350 lbs and still extremely athletic with minimal or no injuries‼️ Some people b/c of genetics are prone to injuries‼️
