Yes please 🙏 and can we see the best advanced home automations in home assistant ? I'd love to see a step by step for battery notification in home assistant

Hi Mark, great video! I do have Aqara devices and I use them without any issue. I also have 3 Ikea blinds that comes with repeaters and buttons, all of them working fine and separatedly, for example the repeaters are extending the mesh network for any device and I am using the buttons for triggering whatever I want. I am using the Sonoff dongle like you, plus Mosquitto and Zigbee2MQTT.

Let me give you an idea about a two way possible configuratiom. Let´s assume you are controlling only one light, you can use 1 smart wall switch H1 downstairs and 1 wireless remote switch H1 upstairs! The wireless remote switch will only togle the smart wall switch. Got it?

Again, you are doing a very good job for the community, helping everyone! Thank you so much for the great videos!

Hi, thanks for the video. Are you able to explain a bit more about what you did to combat lack of 2-way support with the "dummy switch" as you called it? How is the "dumb" one configured exactly?

Been waitting for this one, thanks for doing all this and sharing what you learn

I love the Aqara product line but it can be frustrating with home assistant I have just purchased a hub to use in tandem to hopefully alleviate some of the problematic devices I run into every now and again.

Really wish the light switches had dimmable options as well and a triple :/. otherwise i'd be swapping the whole house now.

Nice update, been using blu tac for contact sensors in test and it’s worked a treat. Testing has gone longer than the delays between your updates 😊

Since you asked I want you to do more videos on yolink products or any other products that use LORA. I find yolink to be rock solid but under represented

First time viewer. I would have liked to just see you using the Aqara app routines first and then branching out to home assistants. A lot of what you spoke went over my head.
Maybe I will have to watch your first video on this 3 video series.

Mm wave are far from as seamless as people make them out to be.
To use them to pick up motion, they need to be placed around 1.8m (5 foot 9) off the ground for ‘maximum effectiveness’ which somewhat dictates where it needs to go and also meaning then being ugly AND visible unless you hide them away on a shelf, not to mention it will not pick up kids or dogs or babies crawling along the floor.
They can also pick up ‘ghost’ signals which can be cleared away but when you have automations that rely on presence being there or not, this means they do not work, I’ve had to go into the app and clear away duplicated ‘presences’ on a number of occasions before things work properly again.
As with all things tech, further development required before it’s as near to perfect as we’d need it to be.

I really wish someone had told me this so here's a PSA for all, 99% of my ZHA ZigBee network connectivity issues are due to Aqara contact sensors and temperature sensors and 1% due to Sonoff, Ikea, Samotech, etc

I’d love to see a walk through on how to connect the H2 to Home Assistant. I am new to Home Assistant and totally confused…

Mark, try Blu-Tack, or whatever your local equivalent of reusable sticky putty is, for mounting sensors.
It leaves no residue, lasts a really long time and is much easier to work with than those foam sticky pads.

Good video, I also use a lot of aqara. Would be nice if they did the switches in anthracite though.

Have you done a video on your alarm system?

Question @Mark Watt Tech : if you use it in coupled mode, does the switch then still work is home assisant is down or connection is lost? (does the relay still click as a standalone switch)
Edit: Sorry, you tell it @5:40

Hi, I’m thinking of getting Aqara wired light switches, but I’m confused on the wiring as on some videos the mention decoupled etc. my current normal switch turns on hall and landing light but I’m going for a 2 switch and 2 ikea bulbs so one switch turns hall and the other the landing. Any ideas on how I would wire the switches

So if I get the H1 double rocker, 1 button will control the light, and I can configure the other button to do something else?

Are you using aqara magic cube? If yes, is there a way to get Blueprint for Z2M to work in home assistant? The blueprint I got doesn't work flipping to the side is not recognised.
