Stinky Tofu Snack - Try Something Different

Here's something a bit different that I picked up in Haiyan Store in southampton - it's Stinky Tofu!

I'm from Hong Kong, and while I've never tried it, the stinky tofu here can be smelt almost half a street away, . I believe there are two types of stinky tofu, one that you tried and one that more resembles a lump of tofu and is much stronger in its odor. But kudos to you for trying! I'm asian and I haven't dared myself!

Interesting. Where I used to live in China (Zhejiang province) stinky tofu was everywhere. It came fried, golden brown with a soft texture. You can smell it from about half a mile away and it smells like an open sewer - but tastes delicious!

Please try German "Harzer Käse" with Karaway seeds. Best eaten (IMO) with mustard on bread. It should be mostly translucent, otherwise it's not quite ripe and not stinky enough.
