The Mikal Bridges trade really stands out as Philly’s worst move of the past decade. He won 2 NCAA titles in 3 years. He was older, more mature. He would have been an instant fit, but the NBA’s fascination with youth won out. Honorable mention goes to passing on Jayson Tatum. Say what you will about Charles Barkley, but Charles knows basketball talent, and he made it clear Tatum was the best player in the upcoming draft, months before Philly took Markelle Fultz.

The crazy thing is Philly’s process wasn’t the problem. They just so horribly mismanaged their assets, failed to develop the young talent they acquired, and they failed to build an actual culture that could lead to winning. It is truly incredible how much Philly has squandered the opportunities presented to them through the last decade.

It must be a kick in the nuts for 76er fans who went through all that tanking just for all this

IMO the most important reason why The Sixers started failing, is the losing culture. The mentality part of basketball is very important. When you don't want a player like Jimmy who is tough mentally and wants to win, when you make it ok for the team to lose games for the good picks, the mentality of losing being ok and not caring about winning becomes a habit. And that habit will never let you win a championship.

I don't care who the 6ers drafted or didn't draft, who they did or didn't sign, and who they did or didn't trade for; the worst move they ever made was signing Tobias Harris over Jimmy Butler.
Jimmy would've led them to a ring

What happened with Markelle Fultz was honestly just a freak accident at least the kid is now making moves in the league.

Saying that mcw was drafted "over giannis" is absurd. No one had giannis going that high, if they did he wouldve been picked #1

You can't hate on teams for not drafting Giannis he wasn't good when he came in and most didn't expect his improvement in the following years. But Sam trading jrue wasn't a good choice at all

I think fultz was the only situation where the sixers were hit with bad luck. No one could have predicted that shit, he was a solid player. Everything else tho god damn

Not trading Maxey in the Sixers first attempt for Harden was actually one of their first few great decisions. Had they not won with that duo they’d have literally no future and Harden only had about 8 more months of MVP play left in him.

Honestly I appreciate Dylan’s use of humor in his videos, it’s nice and subtle enough to not be over bearing, yet always gives me a laugh when I hear them. I remember the days where jokes would be sparring in his older videos, so it’s nice to see his evolution.

Al Horford really went to Philly, drained their salary cap, then dipped back to Boston and helped win a ring.

The amount of talent that has left through their doors is insane. The only banner they have to show for it is a 47 point game against Nikola Jokic

that roster they had with jimmy was really it. letting him go the next season is probably the worst thing they've done

the trade Maxey take is definitely aging terribly

Makes you appreciate how OKC could have been in a similar situation but made all the right moves with their trades and picks

Edit: a lot of y’all are mad for some reason. All i’m saying is that OKC drafted well and had an actual plan that LOOKS like its going to go well. Obviously they haven’t done anything big yet but they have a great foundation. Didn’t think it had to be explained

I love it whenever Dylan is emotionally invested in the docs. I'd like to see the process drag for a couple more years just so I can hear dylan sound disappointed lol

I remember the Game 7 buzzer beater. Being Canadian, I was so happy when it happened. Even more impressive is that Toronto won against Golden State in the finals.

That said, I just feel bad for Philly's teams because they try so hard only to lose in a cruel twist of fate. First the unspoken series-winning overtime goal from Patrick Kane in the 2010 SCF, and then Kawhi Leonard's buzzer beater in the 2019 NBA Playoffs.

Philly took 10 years to get 1 win further in the playoffs, you’ve just gotta give the process another 80 years
