A good idea is to not use shark bite, only use in an emergency then replace with propress or soldered joint.

This makes sense as I only reuse a condom 6 times before it drys out and starts ripping and tearing. Have no worries once it rips it will feel a lot better. Although I still wear it for style like ripped jeans.

Petroleum products will stretch out the o-ring, making it completely useless.

I only use vaseline on compression fittings, just a little dab on the ring to stop them from screaming during the tightening of the fitting

Best way to keep those from leaking is by leaving them on the shelf at the store...

yup, you've done your study on this type of O-ring...is it NBR type?
and your right silicone base grease is best

Plus, silicone grease attracts less dust

Don't in and out the o-ring to many times. That abuse adds up.

Why would you use a fitting more than once? Unless it’s an end cap? Once in a while u might need to take it back off if u cut the pipe short etc but 4-5 times? Lol

Who’s using the same one of these five or six times?! I guess a plumber might keep a few on hand and re use them for a quick fix until the permanent one can be done so that’s why he or she re uses them so much? 🤷‍♂️They’re probably removable in case you put it on and decide to adjust something and want to do it again.

Yes, petroleum based lubes are bad for rubbers.

If you using shark bites in the first place you shouldn’t be doing plumbing… there temperorary hold imo

Silicon will dry and becomes hard, Vaseline it the best, they use it everywhere, any seal

Did anyone else read " factory lubricated" in their head in a sulty female voice? Asking for a friend.

I returned all my shark bite fittings once I realized they don’t work on horizontal applications. The white nylon inner tubing (seen in video) falls down and prevents any copper or PEX pipe from inserting more than about 1/8”. Useless

Lmfao just cause you can remove it doesn't mean it's reusable..😂😂
