A look at the Yashica Minister D 35mm film camera. Manufactured in the 1960s. This camera was given to me along with the original receipt which shows that it was sold new in December 1968 for £45! It's in excellent condition and still takes a good picture....slowly.

Yes. You are first version of M

I just bought this Minister D and luckily I have a newer version. Different front of the lens. More graceful and two-tone. More subtle company engraving on the top plate and most importantly. Light meter switch. In the newer version, it is turned from off to on and vice versa. in the older model there is a button with a red dot that must be pressed all the time for the meter to measure the light and you already know that it is not convenient. So I either have it turned on or not. And the last difference. Rangefinder adjustment cap. The older version has a rubber cap. Newer metal screw.

The lens is sharp
And render s more than acceptable quality
These cameras can be had for a tenner on a car boot
If you find one as he did in it's case
Chances are everything will be fine.
At the moment prices are not over the top
No one has heard of them and they are older
But Electro s are now going for three figures in serviced

Nice video and pictures! I've got a Minister 700, same camera with a 1.7 lens. It's a no nonsens camera, with all you need, and nothing you don't, and great fun to use. IPhone? I'm sure there's a cure for that disease...
