India: Delhi CM Kejriwal Granted Bail, Top Court Raises Questions on CBI's Arrest

The Indian Supreme Court has granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party's national convener Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. Kejriwal was granted bail on a bond of Rs 10 lakh. He was initially arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in March and later by the CBI. Although he has already received bail in the ED case, he remained in jail due to the CBI case. In granting bail, the Supreme Court ruled that prolonged incarceration amounted to injustice and raised concerns about the timing of the CBI's arrest. AAP leaders and opposition parties have expressed support for Kejriwal, accusing the ruling BJP of misusing central agencies. Meanwhile, the BJP contends that the bail does not undermine the charges.
