I have a Taylor 616 and the electronics recently went silent. I went ahead and tried an Energizer battery and I’m pleased to say it actually worked. Thank you!

I’ve had my Taylor 214 for about three years and I love the sound but the electronics have never worked properly until I tried your suggestion. The electronics now work perfectly. I honestly can’t believe the fix with something that simple. I feel like I got a brand new guitar. Thank you so much!

I Don't have different brand of batteries. I just cleaned the terminals of my old battery. Wow! You're the man! Many Thanks!

You rock! In the documentation Taylor provides with the guitar, they recommend Duracell. I put in a Duracell and it barely fits in the battery compartment. When I played it plugged in, it started cutting out intermittently. I brought it to a music store and they said I might need to go to a Taylor specialist because the pickup system is so unique. I decided to look online first and found this video - I changed to an Energizer and it fits in the guitar much better and the guitar works perfectly. You probably saved me a lot of money and hassle.

Thank You Pete!!! Bought an acoustic- electric about 10 years ago (not a Taylor), the electronics never worked-- your fix worked!!! Thanks again!

Ridiculous! This was it for me. My sound was scratchy and cutting in and out and I thought it was my cable or my jack. Nope, battery. THANK YOU!!!

Older GS-Mini R with the ES-T. Was literally ready to trade it in. Thought something was broken with it. Very thin sound the last few times I plugged it in. Pulled out a new Duracell and put in a new Energizer. Plugged into my PA for the last 20 mins. It worked! Thank you so much for posting!

Dude your video came at the perfect time. Scored a Beautiful Taylor 2018 414CE-Custom in pristine shape for $1400 marked down form $2000 because the pickup was cutting in and out.. I purchased it hoping this was the issue and behold it was!! I replaced the Duracell with an Energizer and now she plays perfectly!

Funny thing is the Duracell seemed to fit perfect into the holder and the new energizer has a lot of vertical play.. but the energizer works perfectly and the Duracell was not working right....

Thank you so much. I was hopeful but skeptical but this video is absolute truth!

I was having trouble getting most batteries to fit inside my 10 year old Taylor GS Mini. I talked to Taylor and they sent me a slightly larger 9 volt battery casing. So that might be something to think about as well. It certainly helped me. Thanks for the video!

So I don't have an Energizer battery handy ( which I will rectify soon), but after watching this video I had similar success changing out a Rayovac battery from my Taylor 814CE, for Walgreens Alkaline battery. Clearly fit differently and the buzz is 95% gone. Will try again once I get an Energizer. Thanks!

Thank you!! Taylor 312 CE wouldn't amplify. Kept putting new Duracells in. Was ready to drive an hour to get it worked on. Thank you for coming to my rescue with such a simple fix. Thank you for taking the time to put this out there!

Fantastic advice Pete! I have always used Energizer on my Taylor and never had an issue. Thanks for the heads up and for blessing The Taylor Community. You be the GarageBand and The Taylor Man. Kudos 🫡🫡🫡

I've been struggling with this issue with my Taylor! I even had it looked at and was told me the connectors just needed cleaned and that it was all good now. But I've continued to have the problem, so I'm definitely going to pick up some Energizer batteries now!

Unbelievable. My Yamaha fell over about 6 months ago and stopped working. I thought a wire broke off inside somehow. I've taken everything apart 5 times, checked all connections, ground, etc., been testing with my meter, cleaned everything, changed batteries (to the same brand).... all to no avail. Stumbled on this video today. My problem was a cheap, crappy pack of batteries I had bought. A couple mm shorter than Duracell which I usually use. Just shimmed inside the battery compartment and voila! That's what I get for being a cheapskate and trying to save 50 cents on cheap 9 volts!! Thanks!!!

Perfect!! I was going nuts trying to find out why my 614ce was not working with my Fishman. I changed the type of battery and BAM!!! Working! Thank you!!!

My 2023 224ce pse came with a Duracell, seems to function properly. Good information to keep in mind if it starts acting up.

Thankyou Pete🙂 Means a lot. I also had this problem and thought there is some problem with the wood. Battery was the only issue. Blessings from India💫 Keep doing such good work🎉

Well thank you for this, I was already shopping around for new pick ups for the guitar. I will definitely try this today first.

I have a brand new Taylor 200CE. After 2 months of playing the pickup failed. I did some Google searching and found your video. I check the battery compartment and it has a Duracell from the factory. It fits loosely though. I put it back in and it works again, but I guess I'll buy an Energizer.
