Lyrics:
Wouldn't you know it I've lost my courage
Isn't that funny me lost for words
Not that it really matters 'cause I know you know
And you would have told me yourself if you could
Remember the first time we met each other
You were in your world and I was in mine
Breaking down the barriers we broke all the rules
But wasn't it good wasn't it fine
While I took for granted, you took your time
Longing for love oh how we tried
It's over now that's understood, but wasn't it good
So long together, two would be lovers
Caring for flowers that just wouldn't grow
And in all of our tomorrows, we'll have yesterday
And wasn't it good, wasn't it fine
While I took for granted, you took your time
Longing for love, oh how we tried
It's over now that's understood

But wasn't it good

I wonder if there is a perfect voice out there, somewhere. Tina ranks with Whitney, in my estimation, as the nearest to perfection you could get.

She is so under-rated as a songwriter. This should surely rank in the all time top 10 of ballads. Say 'yeah' below if you agree.

One of the purest voices to ever come out of Australia, no wonder France tried to claim her as their own,
she's super down to earth & so awesome.

Couldn't imagine going through the 90's without Tina Arena.

Released in September 1995, I was only 8 years of age and my Mum was a massive Tina fan and still is to this day. We both still love to belt out to this song no matter how awful we sound. Almost 27 years on and it’s still one of my favourite songs and personally her best song ever.

First of all, that sick beat drop at 3:07 had my head bopping to a breakup ballad 😂

On a more serious note, this song is a beautifully arranged and well-written 90s ballad that resonates deeply with anyone healing from a broken heart after a relationship's end.

Even when a breakup is amicable, the heart still longs for that person and that closed chapter in life. Yet, there is comfort in looking back and knowing that what was shared between you two was good, even if it wasn't meant to last forever. This song captures that journey perfectly, concluding with an uplifting melody. Subtle perfection 👌🏼

One of my all-time favorites.

These were dark times for me in my lovelife. This song by Tina Arena is possibly one of the most beautiful tunes I've ever heard, a tearjerker. When she sings, you feel her voice piercing through your heart. I simply love her, she is was one of the most underrated artists to come out. I'm simply a huge fan of Tina Arena.

I can't listen to this song without a pool of tears following along. I maid mistakes, lost a great person, and now it's over. Wasn't it good? Yes, it will never be forgotten. Wouldn't you know it, I lost my courage. True, he built me up, he thought I was a star. I'm lost for words and filled with tears!!!
