This is my 5th video in a series on Travis style Finger picking.

Man your tutorials are incredible for a terminally intermediate player like me! I’ve played a few different versions of this song over the years, mostly my own patterns (except the Ramblin’ Jack version). But I’ve never been fully satisfied and this kind of pattern doesn’t make sense looking at a tab. I loved your Townes Van Zandt lesson for Nothin’ as well. Anyways, thanks a million!

Of all the many lessons and tutorials on YouTube and elsewhere, this is by far the best. It's clearly explained in easy to understand instructions. Added to which, Mike breaks the chords and finger-picking parts into sections to enable students to learn each section and isolate them until you can play them your best before playing (and singing) the whole song. 👏

Got the basic understanding down in a day thanks to your tutorial. Yay! Hooray! Now to actually practice them. But! You’re doing a pinky-jump to a G in the bass in the first playthrough, during the am-bit which is missing from the instruction and the playthrough at the end.

Sounds pretty awesome! IF one day you do an updated version of this song, it’d be great to have in there, too.

Thank you so much for this video. watched several tutorials on this song and this is by far the easiest to follow. I have been playing guitar for 8 months now so very much a beginner still, the last month or so been trying to finger pick. Mastered a few songs but this is next level for me.
