The Giving Tree was a weird book

As far as i understood, the book was a metaphor for motherhood.

While a child is young their mother is the most important thing in their life, but as they grow older, their world expands and their mother takes uo less space.
Still, the mother gives everything she has to her child to ensure they thrive. Eventually, the tree has given uo everything it had, but is still happy because her child has grown up and lived a full life

Diary of the Whimpy Kid had its funniest moments ngl in the books.

You know, in my AP class one of my classmates was talking about the book and how she didn't like it and then my teacher offered the interpretation that the tree in the book represents a mother and my mind was blown

I'm about 100% sure this is symbolic for motherhood. Based on everything it's about, the tree definitely represents the mother's care and sacrifice for his son, and how he respects and loves his mother even when he didn't visit her all that often

I Remember Reading this back in School, yeah It was pretty weird and 7 year old me probably did not understand It, but i Guess that the morale of the story was to not give everithing to people that will not care about you nor give you something in return, but you probably di not overthink this, ah and you should be less online understanding by your mind patterns :]

It was a metaphor of a one sided relationship. Ever since I left one, I actually get the book. The tree had everything and gave it to one of the only people they cared about. Giving them more and more of its time as it and the relationship got older. But in time, the man also gave time to it as well, just not committing as he had a different affection style. But in the end, the man left the tree in ruins, still being there for the tree, but knowing what he did and being an example that sometimes, a relationship isn’t always what it seems and ends up one sided.
