Should not take any credit away by calling it an upset Querrey played the best tennis on both days and deservedly came out as winner. Very well played man.

This stopped 28 straight quarters for Novak which is amazing but also just the second loss in what was 23 times reaching semis- in other words before this tourney he had reached 23 of 24 semifinals at grand slams... and his one loss was the 9-7 epic loss to wawrinka in the Quarters at AO 2014. Otherwise he didn't fail to reach the semis for 23 of 24 straight slams (14 straight) not the cleanest stat so it won't get repeated but unreal..

Strangely, Novak has always had one such day in almost every Grand Slam, but often goes and ends up winning -- in 2014 Wimbledon, he was pushed by Dimitrov and came back from 2 sets down against Cilic, he lost the 2014 US Open SF to Nishikori, he nearly lost to Kevin Anderson in 2015 wimbledon and it went to 5 sets, then he somehow beat Giles Simon this year at the AO despite an unbelievable 100 unforced errors (which is more of how much his opponent missed his chances than anything else). But now he's finally been undone here.

It's funny how Federer said that Djokovic was beatable in an interview before the match even started. He said it was impossible for Djokovic to keep streak for so long and that he'd eventually have to lose. It was kind of like he knew that Djokovic would lose. Federer jinxed him lol

This was the time when Novak had elbow injury, even though he never mentioned the exact problem publicly till the injury got exaggerated. Nevertheless Querry is always a threat on grass and that was a well deserved win

Queerer has beaten Nadal, Djoker, and Murray. He’s made a semi final in a grand slam, won 10 atp titles. For a laidback and unassuming guy, he’s done well for himself.

If this Sam Querrey turns up today against rafa it will be a difficult match indeed for rafa.

Djokovic is just like Virat Kohli. Solid, Consistent, Hard working player. Federer is a gifted player like Sachin. There is unexplained aura in their play. Such players win hearts, break hearts and are remembered for a long long time. The Sachin's era of 1996-98 and the Federer's era of 2005-2007 are perhaps the highest level of domination and admiration I have ever seen.

Still difficult to believe Querrey pulled this off. Djokovic won 4 straight slams. Down 2 sets to Anderson in 2015, comes back to win and eventually takes the title. USO 2015 he was never pushed beyond 4 sets but still had to save like 20 BP or something vs Roger in the final. Then AO 2016 hits 100 unforced errors in round 4 but still finds a way to come through in 5 sets and eventually take the title. Then wins FO losing 2 sets all tournament. Was just dominating and every time he found himself in a tight one he found a way to pull through and when the Querrey R3 match got suspended overnight when Djok was 2 sets down it appeared the resumption the following day would be a formality especially after Djokovic went up 4-0 in the third and only rain would delay him (as this one was on a then-roofless No. 1 Court),

When Djokovic served for the 4th set apparently 2 line calls went against him that should have gone in his favour but he was out of challenges, then missed a volley on BP, and Querrey scraped himself through the 4th set from a mini break down in the tiebreak.

On top of all the other stats @Anthony Hirsch mentioned, makes it incredibly difficult to believe this actually happened.
Stats he said in case his comment gets buried: 28 straight slam QFs, 23 of 24 semis (the one loss before semis being the 9-7 loss to Stanimal at AO '14)

novak go home & repent for all your & your group's egoistic & rubbish sayings & actions to other players on court & off court. you deserve more losses for what goes up has to come down .

Djokovic is a great player but his game is more boring than Rafas and Feds But thats just my opinion. Federer and Nadal are also among the best in doubles unlike Novak and i like them more than him.
We should respect all these great champions they are more or less equally good.

Thank you Querrey for this win. The Djokovic fanboys were getting unbearable.
