As if for foreigners for those you don't know ARD stand for in my easily translation (The German Association of Broadcasters) because in German it's hard to understand however ARD is the first German broadcaster then ZDF (Centrally devoted to television) came second a decade later then the arrival of private TV networks in the 80s
