I just paused this video 25 seconds in to buy the book in paper and audiobook versions. I listened to the first chapter and I highly recommend you buy it too. (And their first book which was also amazing). Now I’m back to watch the interview because I can’t ever get enough Amber Ruffin and Lacey Lamar.

It's like Seth says, everytime such a white person as myself thinks "Oh, I've got it, this is bad", it just turns out to be a lot worse. Like, we KNOW that black people are offered worse deals, but then she is right there on the phone calling those car dealers out on their lies, and they have the audacity to offer her just a fraction of the discount Mr. White Friend was offered ... and it's the same car, the same money, and WHY would they want to say no?
It's not only mean or stupid, it's ... well, I guess it's this alternative reality, where they feel hurt by black people having the audacity to exist. Racism is SO weird.

I read that first book to my daughter, but I warned her about some of the chapters, because she could end up not sleeping at all after reading something like that thing with Lacey's art classes (read it, no spoilers here). And that's just a girl *reading* about injustices. Imagine cute little Lacey being treated like that in school!

So they're banning history teachers from addressing the slavery in the south and being critical of the Klan, then schools should use this book and the previous one in Literature class.
