Don't worry about the quilting police. They are too busy checking my stitches here in Italy 😊

I love how supportive you are of each other. What a wonderful relationship. And Kate, it's not a "mistake", it's a "learning experience".

Kate's teaching style is wonderful. Too many people tell me that their mother used to criticize their sewing and make them pick out seams until they no longer wanted to sew. I love this.

Hello Kate and Anna! A tip from me. I use a 10 pound exercise weight on my long or large square rulers when cutting. this better than anything else I’ve tried keeping them from sliding when you are cutting long or angled pieces! Can’t wait to see Anna’s fabric choices. XO, Carolyn from Michigan USA

Good mom in-laws like this are a treasure and a blessing! My dear mentoring motherly friend passed away and she's terribly missed. Treasure the time when you are with these wizened angels.

Is there anything more peaceful and happy than listening to other creative people looking at and musing over lovely fabric? That was so fun, watching Anna discover the strips that she loved :) But truly -- there's something magical and skin-tingling about watching someone pondering the beauty they're fingering and the beauty in their mind.

I loved this video so much. ❤️ What a fortunate young lady to have Kate as a mother-in-law and a teacher, and what a blessed woman to have Anna as daughter-in-law and student. You make an excellent team. Good job, Anna! Can’t wait to see you working with the beautiful fabric you have chosen. If your fabric arrives when the UK begins its darker, wintery days and you don’t feel like bright, cheerful fabric anymore, just pop on over here to Texas. It’s ALWAYS bright and sunny here — even in the dead of winter. You’ll be feeling like those happy colors again in no time.

Oh my Anna is extremely fortunate to have you, Kate, at her side to help learn quilt making! How I envy her! She has the guidance of the BEST! And Anna, I love your choice of color and fabric! I also love Michelle’s squares that we saw at the top of the video. I agree. Her patterns have a” retro” 60s-70s feel . I love the pink/ orange/ brown large daisy print one. I’m also not great with math, I could never figure out how to measure a square! Carry on girls! Can’t wait till the next installment.

I love when people share the mistakes they make, especially if they are a seasoned maker. It helps me to have grace for myself when I make a mistake, especially when I'm doing something new. It gives me confidence and helps me remember that no one is perfect.

Anna, so happy you both mentioned you're mathematically challenged, because I'm always afraid of projects that require maths as I find maths challenging as well. You are such an inspiration to simply do what we love. <3 <3 <3

Oh you two read my mind...I've been wondering how Anna's quilt making ideas were progressing. How fun to see this video and watch the two of you make this. I'm math challenged, too, but still manage to make some pretty good quilts! Love you both! Mavis
