Optimize Sketchup Files for Unreal Engine or Unity 3D using Blender

Показать описание
Tutorial video demonstrating the process we use to take Sketchup files and bake them into a single mesh and texture using Blender for real-time performance in game engines such as Unreal Engine (UE4) or Unity 3D. Our interactive models typically have hundreds or even thousands of buildings so we often bake building sets from Sketchup for improved real time performance.

This is using older versions of Sketchup Pro (2018) and Blender (2.79) because we developed this workflow years ago and haven't updated it for the latest versions so let us know in the comments if you have better tutorials for the latest software.

The low hum is because I had a space heater on and I apologize for not having my Slack notifications turned off!

Thanks for detailed tutorial, Why we don't use DataSmith instead of this process?
p.s: it would be great if you make your display resolution smaller, most of menus are not readable.

I wanna ask. Is this method available for object like a room contains chair, desk and interior? The interior is already grouped

Thanks for the tutorial. Could you help me with something though? It's more of a unity question. So I drew a pretty big building in Sketchup with interiors, doors windows etc. Now I'm trying to implement a door opening script but the problem is that all the child meshes have the same one pivot point. What's the best way to give every child object it's own pivot point? I'd apreciate any tip, thanks in advance.

Eh..I hate sketchup for this reason. You made it look easy but how about sketchup to twinmotion then to unreal? Seems easier.
