How Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) was Tested?
Показать описание
Ibrahim (pbuh) is one of the mightiest messengers of Allah. He is such an important messenger that the festival of Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated across the world in order to imitate his act of sacrifice, to fulfil the commandment of Allah. Ibrahim (pbuh) went through a lot of tests after attaining Prophethood and was very successful in all the tests which he encountered from Allah. Through this, we also learn that when Prophets, who are the chosen people from Allah can be tested then normal people like us would definitely be tested at regular intervals. The various forms of tests that Ibrahim (pbuh) went through also give an idea as to how people should respond when they are tested.
Allah says, “And (mention, O Muhammad), when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. (Allah) said, “Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people”. (Abraham) said, “And of my descendants?” (Allah) said, “My covenant does not include the wrongdoers” (Quran 2:124). Allah says that Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) was tested, he fulfilled them and he was appointed as the leader of the people.
Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) went through five major forms of the test; he was tested with fear, discomfort, patience, obedience, and sacrifice, one greater than another. Ibrahim (pbuh) was very successful in all these forms of tests and set standards and examples for the people to come, as to how one needs to respond when a test is given to him by Allah. A man should never worry when he is facing any problems, big or small, but should always remember that the test is from Allah to test him, and soon the problem will be followed by ease, just as in the case of Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh).
