Apple watch repairer here. It's much easier to swap the entire NFC layer rather than just the chip :).
Also just noticed you're using the wrong glue for this repair. Original Cold Press Glue is much better than T8000. T8000 or similar tends to fail in 1 month or so

As per ifix it, before replacing your display delete all your apple pay info from the phone, then set up once replaced. It pairs the chip at the time of configuration,

This can be fixed by doing a factory reset normally or replacing just the glass or just the digitizer it is possible just most main repair shops don't have the time unfortunately

no WONDER MY APPLE WATCH SERIES 5 DOESN’T DO APPLE PAY!!!! Omg I replaced its screen a while ago and thought I screwed something up, just to find out my skepticism was right!! It was because the screen had the nfc chip in it😭🙏 well at least I’m happy I know I technically didn’t mess anything up lol

You can always swap out just the glass, people have been doing this for years, not just on Apple devices I’ve seen this done on Samsung devices too but it requires a lot of practice and skill.

I used to like Right to Repair and then I took my 12 Pro Max to get a battery replacement at the Apple Store and it only cost $89 USD. That’s very cheap & guarantees an official battery with full capacity. I still support independent repair shops getting parts but they aren’t exactly cheaper.

Everyone is complaining, but it’s an nfc which handles payments, contact information, and other sensitive details about the user, so it makes sense something like that would be disabled. I do hope apple does something like what they did with iPhones and the part “calibration” thing
