Beth Hart does this amazing live, there are live videos of her performing this with her actual band. This was a band assembled for her to do a Tribute to Led Zeppelin album of which is out now. Miley did good, but Beth is one of the best female singers out there.

Been out of it for a few days. Didn't realize it was four days. My typing finger is recovered, i think. Beth for me. She puts so much energy in her performances. When she's not gyrating on stage she's jumping into the crowd. Never missing a note. In my youth I never had that much energy. She will do this for a two hour show, just WOW. Miley was good, I just don't think it is her genre. Good show, thanks again

That's an easy one, Beth Hart all the way. I've not listened to much Miley Cyrus, so maybe she is much better at what she normally sings. She certainly seems to have some "issues" to work through, or if that's an image she's going for, she should probably fire her image consultants, or hire some. I haven't seen that version by Beth Hart, I will say I don't think the theatrics (gyrating on the floor) added anything good to it. The "cigarette" is a stand in for a cigarette I believe, she gave up smoking around that time

Ok, let’s get real. MC is a mega star but seriously, her performance here is pedestrian—it feels forced and like the gas tank is half full, the batteries low. She can’t hit those notes cleanly, nor with the proper depth or volume. Now, compare the power and clarity of Beth’s voice (at age 50)--it’s in another league. Ask yourself here, who is trying to act tough and who is inhabitaing the spirit of Rober Plant in every way…

That’s not a cigarette—it’s a piece of bamboo to help her quit smoking (going on 2 years now). And on the spitting—Beth does whatever she wants and, for the most part, doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks. Yes, Beth is distracting and you can never ever take your eyes off her. Her sexuality is an inherent part of her personality—but it’s never a gratuitous display, only an authentic channeling of self and the music.

Before I even watch your reaction....Miley just doesn't have the tone that Beth has....not to mention the breath control or vibrato! No contest. OG Beth Hart owns this! Beth is ALWAYS better live so you can't hold that against her. BTW...it is NOT a cigarette but a replacement. Anyone that is an X smoker gets it.

There are times when Miley sounds really good and times when she sounds terrible. I thought this was just god awful. She should never sing this song again. Beth was incredible because everything she does is incredible. Beth is my number 3 favorite singer behind Kelly Clarkson and Stevie Nicks.
