Most people only do 2-4hours of focused work at their job anyways. We can only do that much in the day and the rest can only be light/relaxed work. Even when people work 12 hour shifts it's still only a few hours of hard mental work and the rest is more tedious easier stuff.

PLEASE someone who has figured out how to escape the "dark playground" share how you got out of it. I've been stuck in it for quite some time and need to know

my kind of OCD thank you for sharing, I feel less alone in my misery. I think this painful pattern of behavior needs to be more researched and recognized publicly.
Not sure if it is pathological by itself or if it is only social pressure with deadlines and achievements that makes it a problem.

I'm currently writing a Philosophy PhD thesis and I struggle tremendously with procastination. Generally I'm pretty easygoing and happy, but when I feel a deadline coming up, I feel so much regret and pain everyday until 5AM I write a bunch of work and then sleep a little later. The cycle then starts again.

yeah I can certainly relate… the worse enemy for creators is chaos and not having discipline… recently I’ve tried out different methods and the work morning first and enjoy rest of evening really feels less stressful

Thank you fro this clip. I think more people with notable achievments should share their experience with hardships, so more aspiring people could realize it is not that easy.

Lesson on how to bomb your own book: Go to a podcast and talk about it in the following manner - "I added things that I shouldn't", "It is too much", "I took too long writing it", "I overoutline"....etc

Anytime I make out a plan like that I never wind up doing it, I just have to kind of jump in on the spot to get anything done, anytime I plan something I procrastinate the whole day away . Im not sure why, immaturity? Adhd?

The cure for this negative spiral is to live in the moment. So easy in theory yet so difficult for so many people to achieve.

Yup. When you realize you're not the only one. Then you read the comments and it confirms there are many of us and: "You Are Not Alone".
The crazy part is that I always get the same solution intuition: 3 hours of super focused action a day -- and yet playing in the mind-field of dredge is the rope always pulling me like the tug of war on Squid Game. Anywho, there are no coincidences, perfect timing with this video! Time to get to work. :)

Appreciate the guests honesty. I have ADD symptoms too and feel that push-pull factor he describes as a content producer myself.

Replace writing with the word art. All real art is pain.
