I'm super confused because I've only used an android phone and the trans flag emoji has always been there! 🏳‍⚧ Looks like 2 different emojis on YouTube comments compared to other apps though...

apple emojis take an especially long time, that's why they come in batches. emojis could take 2-3 years just to go through the process of idea>request>10-20 page essay (discussing reason, utility, design, team agreement and sketches)>submitting the essay>waiting for response>waiting for approval>approval>actually designing the emoji>coding>second approval>release and that's just for 1 emoji!

I do.
Infact way more often than the trans flags.

Mostly for WhatsApp group names and stuff. Or notes on my phone.

But I am part of that very specific subset of lab people. Sometimes working with literal petri dishes
