The main problem I see with the rating is that it focuses too much on what it doesn't have instead of what it has. I felt as if 90% of the video was talking about no multiplayer or more things that would make it fun instead of what was not fun in the game. Also it underappreciates the stuff that it has and is fun. He talks about there being no other game modes when there is multiple, and silly things that he just doesn't bring up. One big thing he said that I disagreed on was the replayability. Theres many different paths or ways of life you can choose, I rarely do any farming so maybe on time I'll prioritize farms and such. And just the stupidly hilarious things you can do with all the various items especially the light house. Thank you for listening to my ted talk, goodnight.

Just to let everyone know before buying the game, there will most likely be no more updates. The creator has abandoned the project entirely.

“Simply adding more difficulty options” 😳 there are 3 additional game modes
1: hard mode
2: single island
3: nuclear
And modding adds alot more things to the game (if your on pc)
Also btw I got forager on pc for like 8$ cause of my country so it really depends

This is a game you can only appreciate by playing it. I find it one of the best designed games in terms of fun i've played in my life (And I've played many).

I avoided this game because I thought it would be boring but I started playing it two days ago on PS5 and cannot stop. This game was masterfully done in a game design perspective. From what I understand the person made the very first version at a game jam. That is amazing, and I'd gush more but I was listening to reviews while playing and want to get back to it lol

Ive played the entirety of Forager on the switch, and just got it on my laptop
You didnt mention the different gamemodes like speedrun, one island, and hardmode
While there is no multiplayer, that doesnt stop people from modding it in
The modding for pc players adds more replayability

I found the game easy and fun, until I got stuck. There was a mineral that I couldn't find yet that is needed to progress. The only way I think I can solve it is by grinding / waiting for my banks to make enough money to buy all the island to find that mineral. Overall a great no-stress idle clicker game to pass the time.

I play it on xbox and have game pass so I have it free. Its fun to play while Im really just wanting to talk to my friends online and want something to do while talking.

what's with everything having to be multiplayer? in no way is not having multiplayer a drawback. If you find it boring, that's fine, but just don't stick multiplayer on everything. It's not pumpkin spice...

The game is fun, dont get me wrong, but the Lead dev is a huge ass for a number of different things he did to his team and others. See a more highly rated negative review for more info on that.
As it stands the game has been completely abandoned, not just from a development pov, but from a community pov too.
I personally can't play or recommend this game knowing the utter disgrace of how HopFrog treated the people who helped this game become a success.

4:59 to awnser the question why there isnt a proper multiplayer the devoloper (hopfrog) stated on patreon that he would cancel the multiplayer due to a poor coding base from him and his formor devolpment team
