Grass is a type of plant with narrow leaves growing from the base. Their appearance as a common plant was in the mid-Cretaceous period. There are 12, 000 species now.[3]

A common kind of grass is used to cover the ground in places such as lawns and parks. Grass is usually the color green. That is because they are wind-pollinated rather than insect-pollinated, so they do not have to attract insects. Green is the best colour for photosynthesis.

Grasslands such as savannah and prairie where grasses are dominant cover 40.5% of the land area of the Earth, except Greenland and Antarctica.[4]

Grasses are monocotyledon herbaceous plants. They include the "grass" of the family Poaceae, which are called grass by ordinary people. This family is also called the Gramineae, and includes some of the sedges (Cyperaceae) and the rushes (Juncaceae).[5] These three families are not very closely related, though all of them belong to clades in the order Poales. They are similar adaptations to a similar life-style.

With around 780 genera and around 12, 000 species, [3] the Poaceae is the fifth-largest plant family, after the Asteraceae, Orchidaceae, Fabaceae and Rubiaceae.[6]

The true grasses include cereals, bamboo and the grasses of lawns (turf) and grassland. Uses for graminoids include food (as grain, sprouted grain, shoots or rhizomes), drink (beer, whisky), pasture for livestock, thatching thatch, paper, fuel, clothing, insulation, construction, sports turf, basket weaving and many others.

Many grasses are short, but some grasses can grow tall, such as bamboo. Plants from the grass family can grow in many places and make grasslands, including areas which are very arid or cold. There are several other plants that look similar to grass and are referred to as such, but are not members of the grass family. These plants include rushes, reeds, papyrus and water chestnut. Seagrass is a monocot in the order Alismatales.

Grasses are an important food for many animals, such as deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass they usually do not destroy the part that grows.[7] This is a part of why the plants are successful. Without grass, soil may wash away into rivers (erosion).

Evolution of grass
Grasses include some of the most versatile plant life-forms. They became widespread toward the end of the Cretaceous. Fossilized dinosaur dung (coprolites) have been found containing grass phytoliths (silica stones inside grass leaves).[8] Grasses have adapted to conditions in lush rain forests, dry deserts, cold mountains and even intertidal habitats, and are now the most widespread plant type. Grass is a valuable source of food and energy for many animals.[9]

Grass and people
Lawn grass is often planted on sports fields and in the area around a building. Sometimes chemicals and water is used to help lawns to grow.

People have used grasses for a long time. People eat parts of grasses. Corn, wheat, barley, oats, rice and millet are cereals, common grains whose seeds are used for food and to make alcohol such as beer.

Sugar comes from sugar cane, which is also a plant in the grass family. People have grown grasses as food for farm animals for about 4, 000 years. People use bamboo to build houses, fences, furniture and other things. Grass plants can also be used as fuel, to cover roofs, and to weave baskets.

Language
In English, the word "grass" appears in several phrases. For example:

"The grass is always greener on the other side" means "people are never happy with what they have and want something else".
"Don't let the grass grow under your feet" means "Do something".
"A snake in the grass" is about a person that will not be honest and will trick others.
All flesh is grass: Old Testament book of Isaiah, chapter 40, verses 6–8. A very true observation of the present-day ecology. See the Miocene for the ecological relevance.
Grass is a slang term for cannabis (pot, weed, or marijuana).

Designed in 1938 by Heinrich Vollmer with inspiration from its predecessor the MP 38, it was heavily used by infantrymen (particularly platoon and squad leaders), and by paratroopers, on the Eastern and Western Fronts as well as armoured fighting vehicle crews.[5][6] Its advanced and modern features made it a favorite among soldiers and popular in countries from various parts of the world after the war. It was often called "Schmeisser" by the Allies, after Hugo Schmeisser, who designed the MP 18, although he was not involved in the design or production of the MP 40. The weapon's other variants included the MP 40/I and the MP 41. From 1940 to 1945, an estimated 1.1 million were produced by Erma Werke.

The MP 18, manufactured by Theodor Bergmann Abteilung Waffenbau, was arguably the first submachine gun used in combat. It was introduced into service in 1918 by the German Army during World War I as the primary weapon of the Sturmtruppen, assault groups specialized in trench combat. Although MP 18 production ended in the 1920s, its design formed the basis of most submachine guns manufactured between 1920 and 1960

The MP 18 served in the final stages of World War I in 1918, especially in the Kaiserschlacht offensive. More than 25, 000 were produced, until the Treaty of Versailles banned production of military SMGs in 1920.[3]

The MP 18 proved to be an excellent weapon. Its concept was well-proven in trench fighting. The basic design directly influenced later submachine gun designs and showed its superiority over the regular infantry rifle in urban, mobile, and guerrilla warfare. The MP 18 served with German police and paramilitary forces after the end of the war. It was widely used in combat by the Freikorps Von Epp against the Spartacus League in Bavaria and by other Freikorps in Berlin, where its efficiency in urban combat was demonstrated.

All the limited conflicts between 1920 and 1940 saw an increasing use of this new class of weapons, first in South America during the Chaco War, [4] then in Europe during the Spanish Civil War, and in China during the Warlord Era[5] and the Japanese invasion, where its use by well-trained Chinese troops was costly for the invaders as in the Battle of Shanghai.[citation needed] It was also used during World War II by various partisans and resistance forces.[1]

Since the treaty allowed the Weimar Republic to keep a small quantity of submachine guns for police use, a few hundred MP 18.1s were modified to accept Schmeisser's original 20-round magazine design. This modification, conducted by Haenel Waffenfabrik, required removal of the existing magazine well collar, and replacement with a different one. These weapons were overstamped with the date "1920" on the receiver and magazine well to show they were legitimate weapons owned by the Weimar Republic and not war bringbacks or clandestine weapons.[citation needed]

Bergmann sold the licence of the MP 18. 1 to SIG Switzerland; the Swiss made model was known as the SIG Bergmann 1920. It existed in .30 Luger and 7.63 mm Mauser. The Bergmann MP 18.1 represents a milestone both in terms of armament technology and warfare tactics. It opened the way for a whole new class of weapons and triggered the research for lighter automatic firearms to be used by mobile troops. Its first direct competitors did not see service in World War I, but most of them saw use in all the limited conflicts taking place in the inter-war period.

King Crimson is one of the more impressive Stands featured in the series. Both physically strong and possessing the ability to erase time and predict the future, King Crimson is described as invincible against all other Stands whose powers do not affect time.

King Crimson is a wildly powerful Stand able to punch through people's bodies or cleave them in a chop with significant ease. Unlike other melee-based Stand Users, Diavolo generally uses it to perform single attacks that are almost always fatal rather than painful barrages. Examples include completely obliterating a fortune teller's upper body in a single punch and throwing a pair of scissors with such strength that they completely severed Risotto Nero's right foot, among multiple other occasions where it effortlessly severed and rived body parts (especially limbs). It also managed to destroy a large wall with a single punch. Its speed is incredibly impressive with Polnareff noting that avoiding its attacks even with the added prediction factor of the blood count method is based on luck, adding on the fact that he has only avoided his attacks a single time. Its feats of strength and speed are comparable to Star Platinum and The World.

Much like other Close-Range Stands, its weaknesses are poor effective range (about 2–3 meters) and permanence, making it difficult for its User to hide their identity against multiple foes.

The Wizard is a Rare card that is unlocked from Spell Valley (Arena 4). He is an area-damage, medium-ranged troop with moderate low hitpoints and moderately high damage output. A Wizard card costs 5 Elixir to deploy.

Strategy

The Wizard's high damage per second and decent hit speed in addition to his ranged area damage makes him effective at supporting high hitpoint tanks by quickly clearing out clumped up troops in their way. This works the other way around; he can defend well against many pushes, as troops funnel together when they cross the bridge.

To deal with big swarms, he must be placed at a far range since he has a slightly slow fire rate.

If there is another troop available to tank for the Wizard's attack, all swarms can help counter a Wizard that has crossed the bridge. The Barbarians are the only swarm bulky enough and spread out enough to consistently not require the use of another card.

The Wizard's damage output is enough to prevent a Balloon from landing any more than its death damage on a Princess Tower.

When compared to other area damage cards that can hit both air and ground troops like the Baby Dragon or a single Skeleton Dragon, the damage a Wizard deals per attack is enough to one shot Minions, Goblins, and the Guards' shields, as well as two shot Skeleton Dragons. If the player struggles against these units, the Wizard may be the best option to take care of them swiftly.

If a Wizard has already connected to the player's Crown Tower, their counter unit should not be placed near the Tower as their unit may take unnecessary damage. This goes the other way around too: If the player deploys their counter very late close to their Crown Tower, it can result in a lot of easily avoidable Crown Tower damage.

Due to their moderate hitpoints, Wizards are very vulnerable to moderate high damaging spell cards such as the Fireball. A higher level Fireball will always destroy a Wizard.

When trying to counter a Wizard, deploy moderate to high hitpoint troops to eliminate him, such as the Mini P.E.K.K.A, Knight or Valkyrie.

The Wizard is very similar to a Bomber, except that he can target air troops and has more hitpoints, but he costs more Elixir. Additionally, it is very difficult to effectively surround the Bomber with low or moderate hitpoint troops, as the Bomber has a larger splash radius than the Wizard, meaning he will almost always hit most or all of the troops he is surrounded him with.

One cheap way to counter the Wizard is the Musketeer, due to her fast hit speed and decent damage, making an easy 1 Elixir profit. An equal level Wizard, however, will leave the Musketeer with less than half its health.

The Wizard pairs excellently with the Tornado, as the Tornado drags troops into the middle while the Wizard splashes all the units in the center of the Tornado.

The Wizard is a great counter against the Lava Hound since he has high damage per second and is also able to one shot the Lava Pups. If timed perfectly, the Wizard's fireball will launch before the Lava Pups have a chance to spread, defeating all of them before they can do any damage. However, because of how much time there is for the opponent to respond (e.g. by using a spell on the Wizard), getting this timing down is very rare.

The Barbarian Barrel is able to counter a lone Wizard for a 3 Elixir profit. Place it so that the barrel hits the Wizard and the Barbarian pops out behind him and distracts him. The Barbarian and the Princess Tower combined will be able to defeat the Wizard.

The Freightliner Cascadia is a heavy-duty semi-trailer truck and the flagship model of Freightliner. It's design took fuel efficiency into great consideration, and several other features including the powertrain offerings, sound mitigation, safety systems, and overall mechanical reliability were improved from it's predecessors. It is offered in three basic configurations: Day Cab, Mid-Roof XT, and Raised Roof. The latter two models are sleeper cabs, offered in various lengths ranging from 48" to 72" inches (Raised Roof models 60” or 72” lengths only). The Cascadia was sold chiefly in North America until 2020, when an export, primarily geared towards the Australian and New Zealand markets, was introduced.[1] Prior to the introduction of the export variant, it's place remained occupied by the Freightliner Century (no longer in US production) for export markets.

Cascadia Evolution
The Cascadia Evolution is a more fuel-efficient version of the Cascadia, released in the year 2013. Improvements were made to the aerodynamics, as well as the driver comfort. The instrument cluster was redesigned to be easier to read, the seats have improved back and lumbar support, dashboard switches are repositioned with larger, [2] higher contrast text, and a battery-powered auxiliary HVAC system from Thermo King was offered. This system was designed to reduce overnight engine idling, both saving fuel and reducing noise while drivers are asleep.[citation needed]

2017 Facelift

2nd Generation Cascadia at Night
In 2017, the Cascadia received a major design revision for the 2018 model year. The general design of the body is the same except for revised chassis fairings and longer cab extenders. The 2018 Cascadia's facelift consisted of hood cowl with a more sculpted and agressive design, syncronised by the redesigned front bumper and larger grille with an addition of all-LED headlights. The hood mirrors were more aerodynamic, following the fuel efficiency deisgn flow and improved bumper air dams were installed.[3][unreliable source?]

Interior wise, the truck received a complete overhaul. An all-new dashboard and new, even more, ergonomic seats both make the truck very driver-centric and provide superior visibility. The Cascadia's sleeper contains a larger bunk, redesigned storage cabinets, new, aircraft-inspired dimmable LED ceiling lights; standard in raised roof sleepers; and the available "Driver's Loft" feature, which adds a collapsible table and two collapsible seats, all of which stow neatly underneath an extra-wide Murphy-style bunk. If equipped with an upper bunk, the raised roof sleeper also includes a standard telescopic ladder for easier access to the top bunk.[4]

Battery-powered HVAC systems remain an option, however, in addition to the Thermo King units seen on the Cascadia Evolution, Freightliner now offers an internally manufactured equivalent system as well.

Other features of the truck include the Detroit DT12 automated manual transmission, ultra-quiet door and window seals, a single panel windshield, all LED marker lights and taillights, and a suite of active and passive safety systems, including blind-spot monitoring, collision mitigation system, lane-keeping assistance, and more.

The second-generation Cascadia is produced in the same three configurations as its predecessors, Day Cab, Mid-roof XT, and Raised Roof.

A musket is a muzzle-loaded long gun that appeared as a smoothbore weapon in the early 16th century, at first as a heavier variant of the arquebus, capable of penetrating plate armor. By the mid-16th century, this type of musket gradually disappeared as the use of heavy armor declined, but musket continued as the generic term for smoothbore long guns until the mid-19th century. In turn, this style of musket was retired in the 19th century when rifled muskets (simply called rifles in modern terminology) using the Minié ball (invented by Claude-Étienne Minié in 1849) became common. The development of breech-loading firearms using self-contained cartridges (introduced by Casimir Lefaucheux in 1835) and the first reliable repeating rifles produced by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1860 also led to their demise. By the time that repeating rifles became common, they were known as simply "rifles", ending the era of the musket.

The AA-12 (Auto Assault-12), originally designed and known as the Atchisson Assault Shotgun, is an automatic combat shotgun developed in 1972 by Maxwell Atchisson. The most prominent feature is reduced recoil. The current 2005 version has been developed over 18 years since the patent was sold to Military Police Systems, Inc. The original design was the basis of several later weapons, including the USAS-12 combat shotgun. The shotgun fires in fully automatic mode only. However, the relatively low cyclic rate of fire of around 300 rounds per minute enables the shooter to fire semi-automatically de facto with brief trigger pulls. It is fed from either an 8-shell box magazine, or a 20- or 32-shell drum magazine.

A grenade is an explosive weapon typically thrown by hand (also called hand grenade), but can also refer to a shell (explosive projectile) shot from the muzzle of a rifle (as a rifle grenade) or a grenade launcher. A modern hand grenade generally consists of an explosive charge ("filler"), a detonator mechanism, an internal striker to trigger the detonator, and a safety lever secured by a cotter pin. The user removes the safety pin before throwing, and once the grenade leaves the hand the safety lever gets released, allowing the striker to trigger a primer that ignites a fuze (sometimes called the delay element), which burns down to the detonator and explodes the

Demonstration of a German stielhandgranate (shaft hand grenade), a high explosive grenade with time fuze, Netherlands, 1946
Grenades work by dispersing fragments (fragmentation grenades), shockwaves (high-explosive, anti-tank and stun grenades), chemical aerosols (smoke and gas grenades) or fire (incendiary grenades). Fragmentation grenades ("frags") are probably the most common in modern armies, and when the word grenade is used in everyday speech, it is generally assumed to refer to a fragmentation grenade. Their outer casings, generally made of a hard synthetic material or steel, are designed to rupture and fragment on detonation, sending out numerous fragments (shards and splinters) as fast-flying projectiles. In modern grenades, a pre-formed fragmentation matrix inside the grenade is commonly used, which may be spherical, cuboid, wire or notched wire. Most anti-personnel (AP) grenades are designed to detonate either after a time delay or on impact.[1]

Grenades are often spherical, cylindrical, ovoid or truncated ovoid in shape, and of a size that fits the hand of an average-sized adult. Some grenades are mounted at the end of a handle and known as "stick grenades". The stick design provides leverage for throwing longer distances, but at the cost of additional weight and length, and has been considered obsolete by western countries since the Second World War and Cold War periods. A friction igniter inside the handle or on the top of the grenade head was used to initiate the fuse.
