Nocturne for Flute or Ondes Martenot and Piano Edward Michael
Показать описание
Corona Session #19. I return to the composer Edward Michaël for another piece for Piano and Ondes Martenot. I'll refer you to the following for this composer's biography:
And to this link for my recording of his "Élégie (à une âme exilée) pour Ondes Martenot et Piano"
For this recording, I used a Behringer Neutron analog synthesizer as my "Faux Martenot" becuase it has a purer sine wave sound than the Pro-1 I've been using on other recordings. Because this work seems to have been written for the flute with the Ondes Martenot only as an alternative, there are no indications in the score for the timbre and speakers to be used. For timber, I chose to start with the very broad flute like sound of a sine wave and added harmonically richer sounds as the piece built, returning to the sine wave for the ending. Throughout, I used a synthesized "Palme" speaker to generate the resonance/reverb. (For the nerds out there, this is an impulse response generated on a small harp and applied to a convolution reverb in my DAW.)
