This is the first time I categorically disagree with a Jim Rickards analysis, and I have listened to him many times. Russia has a long history of expanding geographically by conquest and subjugation, albeit for understandable geopolitical purposes, ie. to obtain year round ocean access and defensible borders. Putin has openly stated his intention to do so again. Yes, Western powers have meddled in the Ukraine, however Russia has actively interfered in the affairs of many European nations. Yes, corruption is rampant in Ukraine as it is everywhere else, but much of that stems from the fact that many of the Soviet bureaucrats, officials and oligarchs remained despite independence from Russia. This does’t mean that the citizens of Ukraine, other that some of the Russians living in Donbas and Crimea, prefer to live with Russian jackboots on their throats and with the country run by corrupt Russian officials. Most people in Ukraine I remember living under Russian rule or their parents do and it is hardly a cherished memory. Unfortunately, even allowing for corruption and evil globalist ambitions in the west, it makes sense to resist Russian military expansion and the process of subjugating Europe via energy dependence. Sadly Ukraine has become a battleground for the larger conflict but to place blame on Ukrainian people for resisting invasion and occupation is wrong.

I get the expression most of Ukraine is apposed to Russia and they want any and all support to keep Russia out.
