Nosferatu (1922) // Original* Film Score

*this synced silent film is scored with my 2020/2023 score of FRANKENSTEIN, and a few other original pieces made specifically to underscore this strange film.

this was originally an effort to score the entire film from scratch, but in listening to my FRANKENSTEIN score for inspiration, i found that it fit quite nicely. this film has a very interesting atmosphere around it, the fact that it’s over a hundred years old is amazing. it was an interesting challenge to shoehorn this existing work in and really try to give it a new context.

most of the speech cards are shortened for flow.

Very good and enjoyable score, atmospheric and very appropriate. The work on the intertitles is really good too, I like them to be as concise as possible and the originals were somewhat too wordy. Presentation of the handwritten notes excellent too.
