This series of videos is so useful. First I went through looking at the shapes and drooling over the beautiful woods, and now we have it down to sycamore I am going through comparing the sycamore lyres to the others. So I listened to the sapele one in the same style, and I can definitely hear how this one is brighter and more focused. It should complement a lower string range very well.

There's a 12 string sycamore/spruce video where you turn the lyre back and forth to catch the light, and I cannot get over how it all looks about the same colour at one angle, the spruce is lighter at another angle, and the sycamore is lighter at yet another angle! Direction of the wood grain or something?

Incidentally, assuming all goes well and I have a lovely little sycamore lyre from you, I will go to a pictureque spot in the park and make a video playing it. It's the least I can do, after all the trouble you're going to, and I am very much looking forward to having something that's small enough to take to the park in the first place.
