Alot of music insiders say the deal Birdman got, will never happen again. He finessed the hell out of Universal. Good for him

Baby pulled a Master P move with the help of Wendy Day. She hardly ever gets mentioned but she was instrumental in structuring the Cash Money/Universal deal.

Master P paved the way. No Limit was the 1st hip hop label with 100% distribution. But big ups to all of them.

Nick: How did you do that? Birdman: Just coming with that street mentality. BS! Truth is Wendy Day helped secure the Universal deal. She actually had to sue Birdman to get paid for her services. I was lucky enough to be able to work with her and a indy artist she was working with a few years back. The music industry is really grimmy. She has so much knowledge and work ethic its crazy! Shout out to Wendy tho, she's a GOAT in this music industry.

I was there when cash money waiting to talk to UMG. I got offered a single deal in 1993. Eric Banet, Cash Money, Coo Cal, other artists was all in a big room waiting to negotiate a deal with UMG.The A&R who had put everything together told the baby and his brother to go after the 90/10 deal. They're going to ask for something else. That's the truth. All this happened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin off 75th Bradley Road. Big shouts out to Cash Money for still holding it down this long.

I’m so glad for him. I know a lot of singers and rappers wish they owned their publishing too cause I’ve heard them say it and it’s the truth. Why should the record companies make more money than you off your own music and what you worked hard for

I took that same street mentality, and applied it to a business..Did it all on my own from studying the craft, to getting licenced to driving for myself. I went from 800 a week to 4500 a week in the first month..after that I made some adjustments, and that 4500 a week went to 4500 in 2 days..It's all a game.Anyone can be rich...Just make sure you prepared for what comes AFTER you make it...💯🤔

You can get that through a good hustle, like Denzel. He owns all of his work and gets the largest cut, it’s just that you don’t see him on billboards and the radio all the time.
