The Ultimate AFK Nightmare Zone Guide Old School Runescape

Hello and Welcome to my AFK Nightmare Zone Guide! As someone who often likes to train combats in an efficient and AFK manner this is one of my favorite ways to go about that. NMZ gives amazing exp, while being extremely AFK, and allowing you to get nightmare zone points at the same time. I go through many different gear and boss setups for this guide in hope to give everyone an option that is looking to try out NMZ. I hope you enjoy!

Headless Beast has a special attack that hits through prayer.

headless beast is not a good recommendation for AFK + P Pots as it will hurl a boulder from above which hits thru protect from melee

headless beast has a special attack that makes rocks fall from the ceiling, doing 10-15 damage each time, preventing you from just using prayer pots

Something pretty huge was missed here. With lower stats, especially under 92 hp, full obsidian is better XP/hr than dharok. You don’t want to swap to DH until 92hp for consistent XP/hr. Also, even at higher levels, DH requires much more focus. Maximum 5min afk, and XP rates will plummet with DH if you go too long without overloading. Run obby or full Bandos and use super combats, and you get around 10min afk with consistent XP rates similar to the 5min afk dharok method. Dh is only better XP if you’re less afk and consistently staying overloaded while keeping hp at 1 or 2.

Thanks for the guide, had house work to do and wanted to get some afk points as I'm moving out of the mid game and want to buy and imbue an archers ring and seers ring now! Just got 1.1mil points throughout the night and my place is clean too, feels great!

Arrg is terrible for AFKing because he just munches your absorption points from anywhere he's standing while you fight other things, if multiple of him spawn it's so bad.

You didn't explain how this actually works though. Like do the bosses keep respawning? How is this better than rock crabs if I we have to keep doing our inventory after we kill each boss?
