Making a Prop Viking Axe

Showing you how to make a prop viking axe out of leather. If you need a prop axe that looks decent so you can hit people with it or just not be worried about hurting people for a scene, this video is for you.

I got to take part in Shieldmaiden, a Vancouver Film School production. I had a chance to act in it, do stunts in it, and I even made an axe for it. I'll link to that short film when it becomes available.

I'm putting links to the items I use in the description of my videos. Picking any of them up through those links helps the channel out. Thanks for watching!

I love this method. I think I'm going to try using this method to make a leather sword for ren-fairs and cons.

Go look into metalsheet workers tongs, they are perfect for 90o deg bends with thinner metal. Quite expensive tho!

My suggestion would be to do a double layer of leather. The first one you could stitch together to hold it on the handle, then a second layer over that glued on to conceal the stitches
