Judge PLEASE learn the names of the victims. It comes off as disrespectful to the families.

Looks like Idaho court system is transparency averse.

Isn't NATE the best journalist in getting us all the coverage on theses cases, he does it in the most efficient and caring way reporting the story not judging the cases. NATE is super!!!😊😊

I’m gonna be mad if they don’t allow cameras in the court room. Everywhere else allows them, but Idaho? Wtf is wrong here

The sound problems in the court were not related to anyone's microphone. It was that the sound coming through the large screen wasn't being directed to any speakers in the courtroom.

That was the FIRST Audio problem.

Once they fixed that, the echo was because of the people who were attending via Skype were not using headsets, therefore every time the judge spoke, his voice would go through their speakers (those on Skype - who were not muted) and back into the microphones at their house and back out to the speakers in the courthouse. Causing an echo which was quite annoying. Keeping all those attending via Skype MUTED until they're ready to talk would have solved this. Wearing actual headphones would have helped but so many people these days don't want to wear headphones.

This is what causes that loud reverberation that we hear. Microphones picking up sounds through speakers and then spitting it back out into the courthouse and it repeats over and over and creates this terrible feedback sound.

I work in IT and this is something I assist with daily.

Solution: MAKE ALL PEOPLE WHO ATTEND VIA SKYPE WEAR HEADSETS AND THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN.

If I was running this Skype meeting I would have continually kept muting all attendants until their turn to talk so no echo or reverb would be happening. They need an IT person in that Skype to help with this, because these sound issues are simply ridiculous and in this day and age should not be happening. It's not that hard to figure out how to solve these issues.

If the judge feels the need to say the names of the victims . . . someone needs to educate him on the proper pronunciations.

TYSM for posting this. For some reason the other outlets are hoarding it.

I'm sure Bryan loves hearing the Judge say this is a very high profile case

AM, I also hope that they don't keep cameras out of the court room, that is so annoying when they do that, need to see Kolbergers reaction to different things that are said or not said. From AKRON, OHIO.

Why is this an issue? These things need to be set up by people who know what they are doing so the courts can do what they are meant to do. Oh jeesh.

Imagine Bryan (who is able to set up surveillance cameras in peoples homes, etc.), as he listens to the ridiculous unpreparedness per the courtroom microphone and sound. BK’s ready to launch out of his seat to fix everything “ I’m going to help you”.
Because he probably knows exactly how to fix it, being the smartest person in the room. I love that it probably makes BK wonder how competent the judge is.

I hope cameras in the courtroom are not banned! As far as the gag order, I think it’s reasonable. Regardless of how heinous the crime is, the defendant needs a fair trial and having victims’ family constantly bad talking the law enforcement & the defendant, and releasing information to the media is not helpful in ensuring that. I can’t imagine how these families feel but they’re going to feel even worse if the defendant doesn’t get the ultimate punishment, especially if it’s due to over exposure/ tainted jury issues.
