Nice solution but I think this is better
Let us rationalise 1/x=> 2 - √3 (After rationalizing We get)

Now, putting values in
x² + 1 / x² where x => 2 + √3 & 1 / x => 2 - √3


We get
(2 + √3)² + (2 - √3)²
7 + 4√3 + 7 - 4√3

CUTTING +4√3 & -4√3
We get 7 + 7 => 14
