Paul taught against the oral traditions/traditions of the fathers and the party of circumcision(Acts 15:1) of Judaism. Paul also taught that followers of Jesus should keep the law of God given through the angel to Moses on Mt. Sinai. He also taught that salvation(immortality) does not come through works but that salvation(immortality) comes as a gift through Jesus from the Almighty to those of us found worthy of it by our conduct in this life. We'll be judged worthy of eternal life by our works. We can't give ourselves immortality. Only Jesus gives us immortality based on our merits.
