JVC GR-C7U - Full HD Test with new DV hardware!

For a while I've been using an honesttech DV importing device, it was rather low quality and had a problem with blowing out a lot of the whites and greys of the video (you can see this in my first attempt of using the JVC with Nostolgiaville) This new hardware allows for more even tones, with both dark and light environments, and not only that but with a few tweaks, I can allow for complete 1080p HD!

Enjoy.

The music is actually from Microsoft Windows XP, it's a hidden soundtrack from windows. Check out Windows XP easter eggs on youtube sometime.

great vid, blast from the past. really like the footage, and the feel of the cam's image rendering. would look great for inserting into a film for effect, or even for a found-footage type short.

the camera doesn't matters, the thing is your art

Hey Jessica!
It's a great little camera, although old, it has a unique feel for it. For the batteries, good luck man, those things are all dried up, I guarantee it, you might be able to get 4 minutes of charge, but most of those batteries have already crystallized and are not any good anymore.
I purchased my battery at the needbattery website, make sure you keep the batteries so you can purchase the same "model number" of battery.

@jarsonintlrecords
I used Magix Edit Pro
The upscaling of the image though, I used a custom program that I devleoped to push 640x480 to 1080p.
I also used newer hardware from Roxio to help with the importing.

I have this model. But there is no color, is that the VHS, or is something wrong with my GR-C7U?
