Alright, so The Menu is now in theaters, serving us up one heck of delicable dark comedy course. But uhhh… Can I get a side of ranch please? Anyway let’s talk about the ending of this movie, and what it’s saying about those snooty foodies out there.

So with that out of the way, thank you for clicking this video. Also hit that like button and subscribe as it helps us out, now let's get into The Menu.

So essentially The Menu features this lavish, one of a kind restaurant, located on a remote island, the Hawthorne, owned by celebrity chef Julian Slowik. Multiple courses, only the most elite can dine here, with it being $1,250 a head… But don’t worry, the tip is included. Though as the courses continue, more of the vile guest’s nature are revealed, all being part of Slowik’s pre planned Menu, aka everyone is going to die.

So yeah, this is all a commentary on the 1% elitist, perfectionism, the love of art, and where it makes the turn from love to obsession. The relationship between givers and takers, the service industry, and how most of the time it is purely transactional. The reason all of the 12 guests are there, is because one, they think they deserve the best of the best experience, but also because they either portray the vile traits mentioned, or have slighted chef Slowik in some way or another.

Tyler, a social media foodie, has taken the joy out of food, by breaking it down by all of it’s minute components. Regulars who have been there 11 times prior, but can’t name a single dish they have eaten. Tech bros who have embezzled money and only believe in wealth. A nasty food critic who is responsible for closing multiple restaurants, and maybe my favorite, a washed up movie star.

The ending surprised me, and the way they include "customers, staff, and restaurant" as the ingredient for S'mores is hilarious.

I love how when Margo is leaving, Judith Light gives her a little nod as if to say, "Go, save yourself." Despite her husband being one of Margo's clients, Judith still wanted her to make it out alive

I have to say, that was a damn good-looking cheeseburger.
A surprisingly good film with much more depth than I had expected.

Give Elsa an award for this movie. When she kept saying "Tortilla" I was dying.

I like how the chef wrote down Tyler's name on the chef's jacket in a very childish, sloppy way, indicating Tyler's incompetence.

i watched this film with my dad and were THOROUGHLY entertained by the countless bits of satire of food culture and we were continuing bits inspired by the movie through the entire night. “Tyler’s Bullshit” probably got the biggest laugh from us, excellent film !!

I laughed my ass off at the scene with the male guest being caught in the chicken coop.

I hope i’m not the only one who kept thinking they’re going to cook one of the dead people.
Ngl I was really confused as to why Chef lets Margot go, I was half expecting him to attack her at any moment since she ruined his Menu, also I love the face in the Chef’s face when he makes the burger, genuine love and delight right there, Ralph did a great job.

As a chef in a fine dining restaurant I loved that film... and when I may add something... the reason why Tyler is there is not so much his breakdown of food...you notice it in very different things... he says he cares about food and all but the people who make it are worthless to him...he don`t ask the Souschef for his name cause it is not important, he just wants to brag with his knowledge...he makes photos even when he is told not to do it, he interrupts the chef just to brag with his palett and knowledge again, he thinks he understands everything and that is why chef Slovik smashes him in that scene where Tyler should cook... he punishes him for thinking that the chefs aren`t important, that everyone with the theoretical knowledge and the right gear can do what they do

Erin was so smart!! She even used a phrase many female restaurant patrons say "I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach." I've said that a billion times in restaurants!! I know my friends have as well!! Chef could not refuse good customer service especially to another service industry worker!! THIS MOVIE IS SO GREAT!! YES

In case you are interested here are the restaurants that are "mocked" in The Menu:
*Noma* in Copenhagen (The mention of the “perfectly unripe” strawberry is from the chef of *Noma), * *Blue Hill* at Stone Barns, *Mugaritz* in the Basque Country, *The Willows* in the Pacific Northwest, chef Francis Mallmann’s private island *La Isla* off the coast of Patagonia.
The spice racks are replicated from the kitchen at the now closed restaurant *El Bulli, * house made granola in gift bags are from *Eleven Madison Park.*
The single raw scallop perched on a craggy rock surrounded by carefully tweezed seaweed and algae is a replicate of a dish at *Atelier Crenn.* Crenn developed the menu for the movie. Finally, the amuse-bouche served on the boat is a reference to a signature dish from chef Thomas Keller at *Per Se.*

I serious thought it will have happy ending, like the customers follow margot's cheeseburger order and they all get to leave

I loved it!
It was crazy, but also amazing
Also in the ending Margot turns around and hesitates because she kinda feels guilty about leaving all the other guests to die…

As I left the movie perplexed feeling as if somehow what he was explaining had nothing to do with me. I sat in my car and thought I have been the chef before and have a whole painting dedicated to this exact experience of losing your happiness and drive to create for lack of ability to. The drive to push for perfection and standards of others being pushed on you as you work in an environment producing things you don’t necessarily love in hopes of hopefully one day it will be enough is a very tough place to get out of. You do feel as if you lost yourself and for most they do not not have someone to snap them out. And for one to do it themselves, they must overcome that praise but rather self sabotage in order to leave. This movie touches on so many parts of being a drained creative and what pushes a person to that point beautifully.

I read the original script that has been around internet for years before the movie even came out. I thought the story was bizarre yet intriguing, but I'm surprised that they kept almost everything the same (except for the fate of certain characters and other very minor stuffs), they must've truly believed that the story would deliver.

It was truly a great movie, I went in without knowing anything about it and left in awe at how much depth and refreshing the movie was. Truly one of my favorite movies of the year
