A Brothel Owner (Interview & Brothel Tour)

Louis is the owner of three brothels: Mona's Ranch, Inez's, and PJ's brothel in Elko, Nevada. I got invited to come spend a week or so there, in what's called the "Red Light District" of United States. On one block, there are four active brothels. I got exclusive access to tour (and spend time at) 3 of the 4 brothels.

My opinion about Brothels are that they are much better than being a prostitute working the streets having to hand over most of their $$ to a pimp. At least w/an honest brothel the women have a safe place to stay & the owners generally seem like caring people( such as this man) & makes sure his workers get regularly tested, etc. Anyway, while I don't know any sex workers, I appreciate your helping to de-stigmatize Brothels( the well-run ones, that is) & the people who run them. 👍

I am so excited to see you've stopped in Elko at the houses. I'm a new fan and have been thoroughly enjoying your videos @Matt Cullen. Your videos are done tastefully, with respect and sensitivity. I used to work at Inez's years ago as a bartender and absolutely loved it. I actually worked in several houses but Inez's was my starting point and my anchor point. I met one of the girls on her day out to buy her weekly supplies, was invited in to do the nails on the girls regularly and through that progressed to bartending as well. Many times I'd be painting their nails as business called-and would patiently wait in order to repaint or fix smudged nails. Im sorry, I digress. Anyway, I'm ecstatic to see you've been granted access to the houses. It's no wonder to me why you, rather than larger video production companies have been granted access. You approach your topics with an open mind and respect. To use an archaic expression Matt, you do "A bang up job!". 👏👏

I know I’m late to this but Matt, I love your channel, I’ve been bingeing your content on and off for days! Louis seemed like such a genuinely good bloke, it was nice to hear his views on it all and see the empathy he has for the women that work for him. I really like the legal brothel concept, from what I’ve seen, these establishments work for all the right reasons. Where I live, prostitution in itself isn’t illegal, but soliciting and brothels are, which I think drives escorts into situations that put them at more risk than if they were allowed to work together and look out for each other, even better if it provides access to regular testing, and security is a definite bonus too! Thank you Matt for telling the stories you do in such a kind, curious way, and providing voices to demographics that are frequently dehumanised in the public consciousness; you seem like a beautiful soul 💜

Happy to see this sort of content! I’m a SW myself, however I’m in Australia where it is legal everywhere. I enjoy my work. I’ve met so many amazing women and clients. In a legal environment, it is much different to what is depicted on TV and less dangerous for women. I choose my hours, I choose who I see. And before anyone comments some anti SW nonsense - my family knows, I was never forced into this or was desperate for money. I have a degree it just didn’t work out and I was always interested in this type of work anyway. If you’re smart you can become very wealthy from this industry. I’ve made up to $1000 for 30 minutes work. Meanwhile my writing job would pay me $400 for days of work. Come to Australia and I’d happily participate in a documentary!
