COVID-19 circuit breaker: Check-out via SafeEntry check-in system not compulsory, but encouraged

The use of a digital check-in system is now a must at many places in Singapore. While checking in via the SafeEntry system is required, the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office (SNDGO) said check-outs are not compulsory yet. Over 62,000 sites have implemented the system so far, up from just over 1,000 locations in late April. A public health expert said SafeEntry provides a digital footprint on where someone has been and for how long. This helps in contact tracing efforts, which might be made complicated if people do not check-out.

This System foreseen that 7 out of 10 lazy eat snake employees cannot survive with this arrangement. The boss will be monitoring yr punch in and out of work including yr lunch, tea breaks, smoking breaks or even toilet breaks. Lots of employees have low productivity even with degrees or high classed education.

Some malls require name and mobile number. I personally think it is over collection of info to buy something. Those malls that scan nric no. only are alright since that's the minimum. Please guarantee that the data dont leak or get hacked especially if contact numbers are collected. The last moh leak is still fresh in our memories.

why dont just make it mandatory to scan in and out using ic insteadof so many different QR code asking for so many questions and some are making excuse saying their phone do not have QR code scanning, they dont have data, cannot get the wifi
dont understand what the questions are asking...
why dont just make everyone compulsory to scan in n out USING IC or Other ID, whether residents or not will definitely have some form of ID
no wonder we have so many arguments at the front line with the difficult patrons and also so lousy work of identifying the source of the infections

This is already much better than in Malaysia. Inside the Pavilion Mall in KL, you will need to scan your temperature and fill in your details at every shop lots, as every retailers used different systems!

In other words, you would be queuing at the restaurant, at book store, at sports wear, at supermarket and at any shop fronts. Best will shopping be at stall like retailers, no need to queue and scan.

Today at one another place, I noted that for NRIC checking in, there is no need for checking out. But for safe entry QR scan, there is also a safe exit scanning

Scan already, but inside the form need to fill up quite a bit of details before showing the check in screen to the entrance person. I'm fine with it but if the crowd gets too much it will jam up the queue...

I was at Junction 8 Bishan yesterday evening. I checked into the Mall, and again at every shop I went to. Only Pet Lovers asked me to check out. I left the Mall via the MRT gate at the basement. No personnel. No QR code.

At one place I went yesterday, I saw people doing the safe entry qr. I was not familiar and used my NRIC. The guard took it, looked at it and returned it to me and waved me in..

No, it should be made compulsory in and out of any places outside, unless of course you want more unlinked community cases, or outside dormitories.

Why there is no app developed by government for us to scan the info? I really don't feel safe to get a third party app to scan QR code. rather use ic.

Yeah, I was wondering all this time why no ‘check out’. As said, 5 mins or 5 hrs one won’t know how long a person is inside the place.

"Not compulsory, but encouraged". That's what they said with the same meaning to the wearing of face mask previously until they made it important and mandatory after things gotten worse. Obviously people would choose not to checking out since it is not compulsory.

I hope people would check out and be cooperative as any means of efforts and informations could be a help to flatten the curve. Travel and spent time outside essentially as per needed and responsibly by wearing mask and safe distancing at all times.

Some selfish individuals are still walking around with mask down at their chin; pulling down their mask when coughing/sneezing and spitting phlegm at grass areas and even on footpath. All irresponsible and ignorant bunch!

The provision of the Safe Entry System has served the purpose of tracing well and all citizens should support this national initiative, however inconvenient. Another point would be the building management (of the particular building) play a more active role in educating/assisting patrons on the need for check-out to enable better tracing information.

Please don't touch my IC card. I really hate it! I can do it myself.
