I love the whole idea of bamboo so I bought the recommended bamboo for the northeast as well as the very pricey advertised steel pot to grow it in that is supposed to help protect it over the winter. I bought the Lewis Bamboo Biochar fertilizer and fertilized exactly as directed. It grew beautifully and then about August the green leaves started turning brown. A Lewis rep said it must need some other fertilizer. Why isn't there enough in the fertilizer they sell? I struggled to keep it alive over the winter. In the spring, I decided to cut it way back and remove every brown leaf that remained and fertilized it again as directed. It came back beautifully and I gave it an extra application of fertilizer. Eventually, it starting to brown again. I can't even give this expensive and heavy plant and container away. Huge disappointment and waste of money.

After 2nd time purchases, I’m having a very hard time with the customer service. It’s very sad I ordered almost dead bamboo and I have to pay return shipping. Won’t buy again and don’t recommend this store.
