Today I take a look at this insanely cheap $1 Tamagotchi that you can buy on eBay right now! Is it good? Does it suck? Well, you'll have to watch to find out! (Psst, it's $1 from china. I think you can work it out!).

The only issue i've had with cheap ones is usually you can't turn the sound off and it drives me absolutely nuts haha.

I found one at TJ Max for $3. It’s called Digapet and it’s shaped like a heart. It’s the same exact thing. Like the exact same circuit board. It’s funny since if you keep scrolling thought the pets you’ll find spongebob Patrick and even Optimus prime and mega man.
BTW the bottom right icon is telling you the pet needs attention. It will eventually go away when you play or feed with it. What’s bad is that you can’t tell what it needs

After playing for awhile, I got my tamagotchi a “job” and transformed it twice using items I bought. I actually think this is a decent virtual pet!

I love my frog called bob. I feed him, he sends me messages....the envelope icon, which tell me he has pooped. You can put the secret code in the key...444 many times to increase your gold and buy things. Then you clean him up using the wash bucket/toilet? icon, , you feed him bread or cake with the chef in hat? icon...depending on what kind of parent you are, then you play games to collect gold. Then with your collected gold you can go to the shop. Keeps resetting.

I wouldn't mind purchasing a few of these to practice painting the shells in a custom design. Some people will paint the authentic Tamagotchi shells and I'd like to learn to do the same, only I'd rather practice on something cheap first. :)

Hey I got one of these too! The stupid reset button is such a hassle, but on the bright side ordering this little guy inspired me to do some searching for an authentic one and get the real deal.

The flashing icon means it needs attachion. It most likely needs to eat then you can play with it.

speaking thing: idk
bag with "+" icon: medkit, used for healing the pet
mail: flashes if you have mail
book: others
last icon: flashes if pet needs attention (usually feeding)

i hAVE A 168 IN 1 AND IT HAS 25 TIME LOGGED
i wanna say its days but mine came with a manual
but it was for the 49 in 1
planning on getting a real one
ended up ripping the reset off on the thing
and not screwing the board back in so the screen was all weird

also if anyone needs the chart thing of item prices
for people without the bootlegs these make the tama thingy evolve

the bear thing is 500 gold
the bow is 600
and heart is 700

and to evolve it
go to that heart icon
and select the yin yang once you have one of any of those items
get a random sprite

These are very cheaply made Chinese knockoffs; my wife bought one just for the fun of it; she's a collector of tamas/virtual pets. Hers is a 168 in 1, and is blue and green with a rather intricate color background. The pet you choose isn't the one you play with; a different character eats and plays the game, which you can't do unless the critter will let you. This is not a user friendly pet unlike the real Tamagotchi, and the plastic the toy is made from is very thin and inferior. I think my wife paid $2 and change. It didn't work right after she replaced the batteries either. Advice: save your money and buy a real tama/virtual pet.
