Part 9 - Faux Beam with Fan

I’m in the process of building my own. This is the first “construction” thing I’ve tackled, so I wanted to document it to help others like me who want to do the same thing but don’t know how.

I will post new videos that capture one days work at a time. I think that’s the easiest way to see exactly what is required and how to plan. This is DAY 9, the faux beam with a fan.

Feel free to comment and ask questions, or just follow along as I attempt to tackle this project! I will try to answer them and be helpful if I can.

(8) 1 in. x 8 in. x 8 ft. No. 2 Common Board - $13.52/ea
Finish nails - already purchased
Paint - already purchased
60" Outdoor Ceiling fan - $219.00

TOOLS LIST:
Air Compressor (for nail gun)
Finish nailer
Miter saw
Table saw

TOTAL COST: $327.16
GRAND TOTAL: $3346.94

We’d LOVE to put Faux Beams on our cathedral ceilings in our home, but we can’t find anywhere to buy them

Great work on the the build. Although instead of the TV you should think about doing a projector with a drop down screen and a few speakers for sound.

How long are the rod for your fan, and the diameter of the fan? Great job.

Very Impressive! I need something like that in my backyard. I just don't have the DIY skill set like you do...nor the fancy tools.
May I kindly ask what this cost, more or less? I'm seeing DIY kits going for like 2-3 K and if I ask anyone to build it, I'm hearing 15 K or something like that.
