Biden Says Gap in Black, Latino Unemployment Is ‘Much Too Large’

President-elect Joe Biden says a much weaker-than-expected report on the jobs market underscored the stakes for the economy.

Employers cut 140,000 more jobs last month than they added as the worsening pandemic led more businesses to shut down, the Labor Department said.

"The anxiety and fear of the women and men out there," Biden said reminded him of being sworn in with Barack Obama during the Great Recession of 2009.

Economic analysts say the poor report adds more pressure on Congress to act.

Biden said Friday from Wilmington, Delaware, that we have no time to lose as the coronavirus pandemic continues to inflict pain on the nation’s health and economy.

"With the pandemic raging, people are losing work and losing hope," he said.

Biden rounded out his economic team by announcing the nominations of Boston Mayor Marty Walsh as labor secretary, Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo as commerce secretary and Isabel Guzman as administrator of the Small Business Administration.

Let me explain something to all of you that you all do not know and the restaurant business and the owners. One incident specifically Mother's Day busiest day of the year. I was told by an owner right here in Clinton Hill at a popular Diner that asked me to work a 12-hour shift to take the busiest 5 booths and to hands over all the tips to the owner. Of course he didn't put it that way he try to make it look like the $10 an hour would be more he said why don't you just try it you might like it. Sneaky only to be paid a lousy $10 an hour basically was telling me to come into work for free. Why did he not ask anyone else to do it?
is because they prey on the kind and the people that are in this business that do it with class n complete hospitality. I am someone who works in New York City for over 36 years in this business number one. They don't tell you that they actually steal your tips don't give you the proper credit card tips when you're supposed to.
They have cashiers that work for their owners who deliberately shortchange you. And steal your tips. One specific Place Kellogg's Diner in Williamsburg owned by a woman who had no prior experience in this business whatsoever but a father who had and was sitting there everyday getting his privates parts rubbed by the hostess and other workers while stealing our tips. Most shocking things that happened happened in the restaurant that you know nothing about. They abused you verbally and many other ways they hire you and then when they want to let you go for no reason.when you can be the best at your job because someone will come in either half your age or have a sexual relationship with them. They put you out on the street. All the way up until not even two years ago most restaurants will still getting away with paying $2 cash an hour and when you're working and you're hired for one job they will have you clean dishes mop floors do things that are not on your job detail and you're not paid for and make you feel as if your job is threatened.
if you don't do it because they don't want to pay someone else to do the job. It's an absolute slave job. So all the years working for them and now they're crying saying we're making too much of unemployment that's a bunch of BS because they can take $400 a week out of out check for taxes but we're only receiving $180 a week in regular unemployment with a $300 boost so we're not making out better when we're basically getting only $300 a week because after the taxes taken out from unemployment each week. when we used to making 800 a week after working a 60-hour week 15 hours a day with no food brakes and not able to sit down for second. Were dealing with the worst obnoxious violent under the influence of Narcotics customers coming in and harassing you all hours of the night so don't let them fool you. You don't know the whole truth. And not to mention the simple fact they have 99.9% of work is which are illegal immigrants using other people's attacks IDs that too old even work. And not to mention I've had my identity stolen by two workers in the kitchen from Mexico. And now they have the right to even tell people that the United States citizens would have to hand over their tips to these workers when they're robbing us anyway and taking our jobs and homes

And as soon as their regular staff get off on employment in September they already said and it's on the news your words that they're looking to hire them back in huge bunches. Where does that leave us looking to take the jobs temporarily when they come back they put you out to the curb. Let's get the news from the people who are going to lose their job in September when these people come back get their interviews and how they get s*** on from these owners
