Honestly, if they were to make it more like the novels, I bet some parents would accidentally take their kids to see the movie in theaters and would leave the theaters with a traumatized child

One thing that I think would work pretty well is making it a miniseries. You can get away with a lot more horror elements and not have to truncate the plot as much. If anyone wants to read through a script treatment that does have a lot of the novel still in it, I recommend reading the Crichton scripts and the Rick Carter treatment. Jurassic Times did a really good audio adaptation of the latter.

I'm just hoping for a TV show adapation that's more horror-based, and hopefully later incorporates the Lost World novel in a later season. Just so we get to see the Lost World Carnotaurus in all it's glory.

I like to think of the Jurassic Park movie as the story being told from John Hammond's perspective (if he hadn't been nibbled to death by the heroic compies). Everyone other than John is misrepresented to denegrate their character as much as possible to serve John's narcissism. I think that makes a lot of sense with Spielberg personally identifying with the character of John Hammond
