Gohan Goes SSJ2 For The First Time HD

Goku reflects on Gohan's growing power, and flashes back to when he and Gohan were training and Gohan managed to achieve Super Saiyan 2 for a split second before passing out from exhaustion, and states that it was during that incident that he realized that, should Cell achieve his Perfect Form, Gohan was the only one out of the Z Fighters who would stand any chance at defeating Cell in his Perfect Form.

This scene really has a lot of depth to it. Gohan pushed himself so hard, not because he was training to defeat Cell, but because he thought he was helping his father get to the level where _he_ could defeat Cell. He looked up to Goku's strength and overestimated it so much that, thinking he needed to match it for the sake of Goku's training, he ended up surpassing him without realizing it. He always thought that his father was holding back, but in truth, Goku could barely keep up with him.

It’s crazy. Not only was Gohan stronger than goku… but his fighting techniques were as good as his father. At his age, Gohan was a prodigy. If only he kept up his training.

I wish this wasn't filler, without it it makes goku look like a gambling idiot when he decided to put gohan up against cell. This filler explains why goku would leave the rosat early and why he was so confident gohan could win.

i know it's filler but i kinda miss this side of Goku, he actually feels like a person with deeper thoughts than just "i wanna fight the strongest because i love fighting" type of character he is nowadays

The crazy thing is that I think Gohan is one of the few if not the only one that has legitimately terrified his father to that degree. He did it again in the Buu Saga when he turned ultimate for the first time also.

WHERE was this GOHAN during his battle with Buu. Once Buu absorbed Gotenks, Gohan just fell apart like a baby. WTF. Where was the usual drive and rage to defend his friends and family, especially against Cell. Where was that during his conflict with Buu.

Holy crap! I never did notice that for a brief moment at 1:59 he did have the spiked hair that goes with SSJ2 and then it goes back to SSJ1 hair before going back to normal.  Nice catch!

Gohan is a prodigy of prodigies. A true ultimate warrior born as a hybrid of two difference races. He is the Jiren of Universe 7.
Gohan reached SSj2 in a year of training from not even being a SSj2 yet.
His unlocked potential was shown to surpass Super Buu, a literal god of destruction at that time that threatened the universe.

It is that trope or concept of that ultimate warrior coming from a child born from unique circumstances.
When I watched HxH and saw Gon, I was reminded of Gohan.
