Bro stoodup entire 1 hour 15 minutes for physics ❤

You need to work on your intro Curt, introducing Prof. Vafa, as just the guy who had Ed Witten as his doctoral advisor is weird, given that he is one of the handful of string theorists to connect string theory to well-established physics (Black hole entropy). Kind of takes away from his significant contributions.

Aside from Graham Farmelo, Curt is the only podcaster who *consistently* has god-tier guests.

After such an introduction I’m not going anywhere.

Eric Dollard proposed counter space decades ago. Because in the lab he couldn't explain observations in his experiments. Its not a new dimension as in a multiverse, something out of reach of our hands. His experiments were directly getting feed back from counterspace. Its folded up in our universe. They laughed him out of science, destroyed his career.

After Amanda Gefter's, this one is another insightful podcast . Thank you

The more you listen to scientists and how they try to make sense of things by exploring fringes of our knowledge, the more it seems that the universe is not fundamental but emergent from a higher reality.

I don’t understand how this Chanel is not attracting millions of viewers and subscribers but on the other hand we have useless and mindless podcasts with growing ignoramus audience

I love the idea of conceptualizing Swampland as a game of Minesweeper with string theory.

Lovely to see how he concentrates to work to give some answers, then smiles feeling joy to others... Might relate to what he said about preference to intuition over formalism. You typically don't get this in public understanding books

Amazing discussion as always.
Re: "Physics is kind of orthogonal to math, " I thought it was funny that he was thinking in mathematical terms even in describing the limits of math to physics.

This was a good one.
I agree that dimensions require my "space" the complex they are, for roughly the same reason

When I was listening to Dr. Vafa, it occurred to me that these luminaries are like the Lakers of physics, and we are watching and cheering them on to solve these universal riddles.

Hi, Vafa one of the best, amazing talk.

When he said oscillating in higher dimensions, it made me wonder... Could virtual particles just be particles that are not oscillating in a polarization to our dimensional plane? And could we polarize these virtual particles with some kind of energy based lens causing matter to enter our dimension?

In the neighborhood of mass, G is stronger in empty space but far away from masses, G is no just weak but repulsive. The “Macchian” approach to mass was to integrate the effect of all masses on your motion and inertia was caused by the pull of all the matter of the Universe on you. Was this idea so crazy?

We have found out that we need fudge factors for motion close to objects with mass and different fudge factors for motion in space far away from other objects.

The fudge factor for greater G is called dark matter. The fudge factor for negative G is dark energy..

Who has proven that G is indeed constant??
