Composed in 1874
Alt. Symphony no. 1 in D-Minor

Organ: Edgar Krapp, organ
Conductor: Vladimir Fedoseyev
Orchestra: Bamberger Symphoniker

0:00 - I. Introduction et Allegro
10:14 - II. Pastorale
17:54 - III. Final: Allegro assai

Note about the recording - I manually adjusted the volume in the beginning of the 2nd movement because the sound engineering made the organ piercingly loud, so at (11:37) the volume returns to normal.

One of the finest organ works of all time. Thank you.

I was familiar with this piece for organ solo, which is very impressive, but with the orchestra it becomes a delight.
P.S. I have this recording from a different source, and indeed, the entire second movement appears to have been normalised separately, bringing the volume up to an absurdly high level. It's obvious from the waveform of the white noise in the silence at the beginning and end of the movement. Even after cutting the volume level by 50%, it's actually still artificially loud, but reducing it any further makes the very quiet ending of the movement well nigh inaudible.
