Maritime traffic resumes in Suez Canal

Experts are warning the week-long maritime jam in the Suez Canal could have long lasting repercussions as maritime traffic once again resumes.

The Ever Given cargo ship left more than 400 vessels stranded after becoming stuck in one the world's busiest waterways.

The traffic backlog reportedly cost approximately $9 billion each day in global trade.

Chairman of Suez Canal authority says 130 ships have sailed through since the waterway reopened and 140 more will pass through today.

Okay explain this to me. Ship gets stuck media says it may take weeks to clear. Six days later it sails out of the canal. Media reports it may take days before canal operations resume. The next day canal operations resume. Now the media is saying the traffic will take three and a half days to get back to normal. Anyone taking bets?

again uninformed news, the canal will transit 100 plus ships each day this will clear the backlog and get back to normal in about 10 to 14 days
their destinations wont be backlogged because they have not had any ships o again they will go into overtime and yes there will be delays but nothing great and we will be back to normal reasonably quickly
