After living so many things with Gabriel, I didn't feel like he ever really fought for Emily. A breath of fresh air and a new beginning with Marchello seems great to me. Also, closer to real life, and well, Rome and Marchello's family welcomed Emily with love, she deserves a clean romance just for her, gosh, to leave behind what didn't work. Gabriel can also accept and start over, that would be the best.
